| Open to the US... Closed to the US... Open to the US... Closed to the US... Open to the US. Sheesh, make up your minds already, Doyle's Room. I realize they're changing networks and that's the reason for the change, but I don't think I'll deposit there. |

| I as well have some money sitting there. I'm not looking forward to the cake network but hopefully it will be as fun as it was before. I only played there back in Nov. and Dec. before they cut me off. I been anxious, and hopefully I won't be disappointed. |

| Three more days huh. I'm looking forward to another poker site, but no one is talking about if they're making a flash version or a Mac download version. I've only been playing on three sites. I need more sites to play at. |

| Poker News - Poker News Search News: News Categories:Current Affairs (64) Poker News (1981) Poker Articles (1005) DoylesRoom Celebrates Cake Poker Network Move with Launch Party by PokerPages.com Tue, Jan 27th, 2009 @ 12:00am Today it is official; popular online poker site DoylesRoom, named in honor of ten-time WSOP Champion Doyle Brunson, has announced their launch on the Cake Poker Network, which means they can again take poker players from the USA. It seems the decision Microgaming made last November to begin denying U.S. players as a result of the ongoing Kentucky online gambling domain seizure case, prompted Doylesroom to move. Ironically, on January 20th, the Kentucky Court of Appeals ruled that the state could not seize the 141 domains because they are not considered gambling devices, so are not subject to seizure (though Kentucky quickly filed a counter appeal to the Kentucky Supreme Court). Yes, DoylesRoom has moved several times. They initially opened their doors on the Tribeca network. After the UIGEA passed, they moved to the Microgaming Network. And now they have moved to their new home on the Cake Poker Network. In their press release today, DoylesRoom announced that they will christen their most recent move with a $5,000 Launch Party Freeroll at 5pm ET on Saturday, January 31st. Just 24 hours later, DoylesRoom will host a $100,000 Guaranteed No-Limit Texas Hold'em tournament with a reduced-fee buy-in of $150+$12 at 5pm on Sunday, February 1st. |

| Doyles room is also having a $5000 free roll this weekend... to welcome back players, no strings attached. I'm sure a mod could put up a link somewhere so you could download their site thru Cards Chat. ( if there is not one already) |

| Doyle If this is re-opening and it is like cake, I have been told you cant open cake and doyle at the same time, cause I play on Players Only and you cant open cake when you play on Players Only. Software is the same I guess. Let me know if anyone else knows about this or has had this problem. |

| re: Doyles room due to open to US players 1-15-09 poker "until we reverse what nazi bush and his cronies have done" LOL at this ridiculous statement. The poker funding legislation was garbage, but why don't you aim your anger where it rightfully belongs? The people who were most threatened by online gambling were the B&M casinos and horse tracks, who were seeing their revenues drop as more and more people played online, and THOSE are the people who lobbied to have the anti-online gambling bill passed to protect their gambling monopoly. And the only way that it actually did pass was to add it on as a rider to a Homeland Security bill, so that nobody would dare to challenge it for fear of being labeled as "soft on terrorism." "Nazi Bush and his cronies" had little to do with it. Why don't you research how your local Congressman and Senator voted on this bill, and do something useful with your anger by letting them know how you feel? (That is, if you are old enough to vote.) |

LOL at this ridiculous statement. While it's true that B&Ms and racetracks do have a vested interest, it's also true that a driving force behind this law was the moralistic absolutism of the right wing of the Republican party. These are the people who pass moral judgment about lifestyle issues such as gay marriage, reproductive rights, casual drug use and gambling. The funny thing is that it's this segment that's the first to wave the flag and trumpet the virtues of this great country, founded on the principles of individual freedom, while at the same time wanting to pass laws outlawing any activity they disagree with. It's not enough for them to proffer their opinion and try to affect behavior through the strength of their argument. Again and again and again they want to proscribe the limits of personal choice and prohibit those activities which they see as immoral. Recent statements by Bush staff members reveal that even though there were those in the administration that despised the pandering to the religious right, it was at the very least a strategic decision to woo and expand this base. When you read the arguments of prohibitionist politicians, they are based largely on the evils of gambling, and they trot out examples of the college student who blew his tuition and the addictive nature of internet gambling. I'm sure there are behind-the-scene mechanations by casino groups, but it's just silly to say that such manipulations are the driving force or the only factor. Let's face it - the country was hijacked by moralistic crusaders that want to tell you what you can and can't do, and there was a President and senators such as Kyl, Goodlatte and Fryst that were enthusiastically on board. But you are right, it is a good idea to let your congressman and senators know how you feel. PPA makes it easy; you can go to their website and send an e-mail to your legislators directly from there - you don't even have to know their names. | I posted this on another thread but sign-ups start Today at 5pm for this freeroll. Get in early in case there are limits on the amount of players they let in. Just went to the site and they have a limit of 4000. It will fill up quick. Last edited by thesoxwin : 29th January 2009 at 6:39 PM. |

gl, at least we agree that people need to let their supposed "representatives" know when they do something that pisses them off, or else we have no voice at all. (Especially considering the low voter turnout for non-Presidential elections and the high retention of incumbents.) |
