Double Thru Sit n Go's

I went to Full Tilt from pkr.com about 6 months ago, and i am there to stay. The only thing i miss from my last full tilt should look into them...

The Double Thru tournament is basically a Sit N Go.
A Double Thru is a 10 player sit'n'go tournament, in which the top 5 are paid double their buy-in. All top 5 players are paid the same.
So the aim of this game is to get into 5th place, that's it. This difference means there is a completely different strategy required.

They are lots of fun, and easy bankroll boosters. Even Pokerstars have them.

Liked those at PokerStars myself and couldn't find them at FTP when started there. Played lot of the short handed SnG's with 6 people @ FTP. Found those to be as close to the Double Ups as I could find.

I play the DoN occasionally when I want to play PLO at PS. I don't about the scandal. Cheating exists at all of these sites.

These games are -EV, to start with you never actually double up. Lose one win one @ the $5 level and your -$1

is 50 buy in's a good enough bankroll for double ups?

If you consistently average winning more than half of them you should be fine with 50 buy ins.

I never knew about that scam, was it on the micro stakes?(I haven't read full article) This may explain why I recieved the mind blowing amount of $6.89 due to the misconduct of two players that I had played with.

I love too play Pdc double up torneys they are fun and good way to up your bankrole but its also a new game people play alot tighter and play much smarter

Played this twice and finished 9th out of 10 both times LOL. Total fail.

First time I lost half my stack when my 10 10 lost to short stacker all in with K8. Then I open shoved on button hoping to steal the blinds. Ran into BB with QQ.

Similar situation second time around. Open shoved with A6 on BTN.BB had 10 10 this time.

I think I'll stick to cash games.

From what I understand some online pros insane multi table these. Because they stop at 5 players they never have to deal with the fast pace of 2 or 3 handed and can play like the 24 table max at stars.

Yeah, I love the double or nothing tournaments. I know pokerstars has them for a buck 15 cents and turbo for a buck 10 cents.

Carbon has $1.08.

On Carbon, it’s just 8c rake. But I don’t think I can be profitable in this. I would need to cash in the next two just to break even excluding the rake.

I tried to be aggressive in position early to hopefully take advantage of them likely playing tight and steal some blinds, but ran into legit hands on the blinds. The one time I had a good starting hand. 70% fav. The other guy hits his top pair.

I am such an idiot. I just had to win at least one. I couldn't let the sitngo beat me.

Third time is the charm. Doubled up for 92c LOL! net of rake.

I delivered the knockout punch. Took out the guy in 6th place.
