Do you remember....
Do you remember your first final table in an online tourney? Bloodspud's post in another thread inspired this poker question and trip down Good Game Memory Lane.
Mine was on Full Tilt in one of their freerolls. I finished in 8th place, out of the money since they only pay the top four, but even with no prize and hours of play, I was completely delighted. |

I remember my first final table,it was at fulltilt and i was supprised when my screen changed, i said whats this,i think fulltilt is the only site that changes the screen automatically, i wrote to them and asked why we cant have that screen all the time, its really nice, and they told me you have to earn it and the only way is to come in 9th or better to see this special table>> unless your watching someone<< after that, last year i won the tourney there on 9/6/04 and finished at 7 final tables there. The funny thing is it took 5 hours and 31 minutes to win it and i got my big 8 bucks>> thats not much per hour LOL << but i do like the final table screen. buckster436

I find myself consistently finishing in the top 20 whenever I play freezeout tourneys. But my first final table came not to long ago on a $25 freezeout. We played until after the second break when we made the final. I lasted through the feild and finally won. I was so happy for the $997.50 that I took.

My first final table I remember well. Just don't remember the last hand.
It was at Planet Poker. I came in 2nd out of 800. Honestly I was shocked that I made it that far. I do remember cursing at the screen when after playing what I thought was a good string of hands came in 2nd. If I had known then what I know today. I probably would have taken 1st. I played for about 5 hours and walked away with $12. Which oddly enough is still there at Planet Poker. I dabled with the 2/4 cent tables a bit and made a few bucks. But, just didn't find it interesting enough to keep playing there. I should go back one day and see if I can build up a nice bankroll there. |

My first final table was in my first big online holdem tournament. I'd been playing seven card stud because I didn't know how to play texas holdem. But I had to learn texas holdem in order to play with a group of guys I know who played poker every Wednesday night. So I carefull read (making notes and everything) the holdem section in Gambling for a Living by Sklansky and Malmuth, and started practicing in some $10+$1 SnG's at Party Poker.
I mistakenly signed up for a qualifier for the Monday night special and won it. So I studied some more and played in the tournament. There were about 620 or 630 players there, and I made it all the way to 5th place and won $6000. Paid off my truck with it. At the final table I got pocket 3's 3 times and won the pot every time. |

I remember well for a very good reason. I used to play the play chips on Ultimatebet and enter the freerolls regulary. I got my wife interested in Holdem but she is tight-passive against my loose-aggressive style.
I used to play the 1000/2000 chip tables building my bankroll into the millions but she couldn't bare to risk the number of chips involved so she would meekly but profitably play the 50/100 tables. Anyway, the first final table I ever made....I never actually made it. My wife did. She got so nervous that she had to call me in and together, we came 7th after being the short stack at the commencement of the FT. It was exciting! ....and yes, she still blames me for busting out in 7th. |

my first final table was about a year ago in a freeroll on ultimate bets .....funny it was also my first ever tourny on line .....my palms were sweating and i was nervous .....I finished 3rd and won a bunch of ultimate bet dollars ....lol..which are almost worthless unless you have a few million of them ......I thought online was so easy and I would be the next chris moneymaker....lmao ....it was almost 4 months and maybe 100 tournys later before i saw a final table again ....what a humbling education that was

Won a freeroll at Absolute Poker this week. In the final heads up play the other person just sat out because he had about three times my chips, so I had to just call everything, took about 15 minutes.
Least I can say I won a 2000 people freeroll now ![]() |

Oh sorry Holly I didnt really answer the question. I thought u meant first ever online tourney. My first final table was also in paradise it was a $5 RnA in which I cant remember where I finished but I made a sizable profit due to alot of rebuys. Yeah, it was nice and I loved it. I was more of a ring player back then wasnt much into tourneys. Then I started playing the mini tourneys and had an awesome top 3 rate. From there I started playing bigger tourneys and soon my frequency on the ring games diminished and I was playing more and more tourneys. Im getting off topic again aren't I? Well thats how I became a tourney player.
