I definitely like to play in person better. It is much easier to get a read on your opponents. It's also fun to interact with the dealers as well. You get to know the dealers and they'll throw you some good cards every now and then, that is if you throw them chips in return!

PLAY MOSTLY ONLINE
I like playing live with friends but it's hard to get everyone together so I mostly play online. I just started playing poker late 2007 so playing online has helped me learn the game too. I do the play money online and when playing with friends we put in like 5 bucks each and play. I've played more online than in person. Have a good one.

ATM, I prefer Online over live just for the simple fact that it is way easier to follow proper BRM Online as opposed to live.
On the other hand if I had the proper BR to play poker in the live world then I would really rather play live. |

The last $300 plus tourney I bought into live was a good example of why I prefer online play. I was randomly assigned seat 8 - furthest view from the flop. The 300+ lb guy in seat 7 was sloppily shoving down a reuben sandwich greasing up the cards and his chips and calling every hand preflop - raised or not. I swear he took an oversized bite before every action, and talked his way through the call as the food spilt over the sides of his piehole. I watched in a gaze, truly mezmorized, as he'd grab a wad of corned beef off the side of his mouth and shove it back into the bread - then he'd peek at his cards with the same hand. As I'm getting sick vowing to never eat a reuben again, he's hitting everything he chases! He was a total luckbox! As for my focus, my IPod was no defense against the volume of this guy's cackling in my ear as he'd drag pot after pot, sucking out continuously. Needless to say, as soon as I flopped a set, I raised his standard pot bet after the flop only to have him shove on me with ace hi. I'm sure I don't need to tell you I called and he sucked out a runner-runner flush to wipe me out and send me home.
I think my next MTT will be online. And the next, and... |

I don't play much live at all and I don't think I would ever want to, except for home games and tournaments, or for fun. I just couldn't switch from playing 500+ hands/hour to playing 30 hands/hour. Plus Ive heard the rake live is usually disgusting.

I prefer live play. I only recently started playing online again - I didn't play online once in 2007, actually 2nd quarter 2006 was the last I played online until recently.
I absolutely love live play. I love the interaction with people and I love the psychology of the game. Although my online poker stats make me look like a fish (because I was at the time hehe) in person people automatically assume that I am a fish because I'm this happy-go-lucky female. I use that to my advantage. I find that in live games, the older folks (I'm talking people who have been playing for 40 years) pick up on my "reverse psychology" much better than the younger kids. As a result I play in the evening time when there are more 20-somethings at the table than 60-somethings. ![]() |

I can say after 5 years of online play im dissapointed with online sites, Absolute was riggued now Ultimate bet who has affiliations with them also announced an inside job admitting fraudulant activity. Do yourselves a favor, stick to live play, or youll end up like me lossing a $4000 pot with the nuts on the flop and runner runner loses 50% of the time. For entertainement purposes only remember. You want to make a living your better off live once you practice enough online.

I love real b/c tells of course.
But I don't think you can beat the comfortability of the computer in your home. I like being at home in tilt reasons, because its very easy to get my mind of a hand when I have plenty of other things to do. At the casino no ability to multi, which I love also. Online, ends up my winner. Where else can you do so much, and learn so much at the same time. |
