DJ's Evolutionary Decision Meter

For fun, I am inventing my Decision Meter. As I figure this thread could easily fall into temporal oblivion sooner rather than later, but I may want to still reference it, I hope to enlist your input.

Since I just invented it, I think it should at least be sketched out for posterity.

My decision meter is a Dynamic (real time) indicator of how I am feeling at any particular moment in a decision process. Do not mistake this for a feely meter (happy, sad, tilt, pissed).

It takes into account a lot of those 'it depends' dynamics that vary from moment to moment at a table. It include reads, patterns, position, and temperament.

The meter will start with these readings on the dial;

Sound as in making a sound decision.
--All folds are usually made when the meter is on 'sound'

Solid, as in playing a situation solidly. Text book stuff.

Gamble, the reads, patterns, position, temperament, and the pokerstars all align to produce an opportunity to be bold. This is the place of great reward, or great misfortune. Make it or break it.

As the dial is currently written in pencil, I request suggestions for alterations as this notion evolves.

A bold undertaking indeed! Sorry i can't be of much help as this is beyond my level of IQ, but this could very well turn out to be the invention of the century. The application to everyday life and decision making are limitless. I look forward to using this in the future should all fall into place and this device comes to fruition; as i would my television, refigerator, and microwave. May the tides of invention and insight flow your way my friend!!!

I think you just invented the Dog.

Sound decisions: This is what they have to put up with every day just to get food.

Solid Players: There is nothing more unshakable on this earth than the natural optimism of dogs. And boy, are they players. They will kill to protect you! That is a solid player in my book.

Gambling: All dogs are gamblers. They gamble that we will be good to them. We are not, but they keep gambling on us. In my book, that's a compulsive gambler.
