Differences between level of play at poker rooms Recently I just opened up an account at Full Tilt after about a 5 year hiatus from that site. I had been playing mostly at Bodog and Ultimate Bet. From my experience, the level of play/players is drastically better at Full Tilt, even at the .01/.02 micro limits. To give you an idea, I built my bankroll up from an initial deposit of $20.00 at Bodog to about $50.00 in less than a week, playing mostly .05/.1 cash games there. (I eventually donked it all off in a 2 hour tilt rampage, lol) If I had not gone on tilt an used proper bankroll management, I would easily have built it up to over $100 by now, but that's neither here or there. At Ultimate Bet I made an initial deposit of $12.00 and built it up to over $60.00 by playing mostly single table 9 handed sit n' go's, also in less than a week. The $1.20 buy ins are like taking candy from a baby there. The micro limit cash games are slightly harder to beat but not that bad. Now, I've been on Full Tilt and what a rude awakening, lol! The level of play there is much, much harder - cash games and sit n' goes. Although I've experienced some horrible beats (part of poker) and that's how I've lost most of my money there, the overall level of play is much stronger. I would compare a .01/.02 table (on average) at Full Tilt to a moderate live $1/$2 table at a casino. Typically will have 2 - 3 fish/donks per 9 handed table, 2-3 average and the rest pretty good, above average players. I deposited $25.00 on Full Tilt and lost about $7.00 so far playing cash but I've won about $8 playing 2 handed SnG's and another $3 or $4 playing single table Sn' G. So I'm up a few bucks but not nearly as much as I was up on the other sites. I've actually had to concentrate and play some of my best poker on Full Tilt just for very marginal gains while I could fall asleep at the other sites and still be ahead, lol!

re: Differences between level of play at poker rooms That's really interesting. Maybe I should try some of the other sites, but I just like full tilt's setup too much. Also if you want to be the best, you gotta go through the best, right? Not saying I'm ever going to get anywhere near that level though lol.

I find the play alot softer on iPoker sites. I play alot of the $5 Jackpot SNGs and the play in them is really terrible. Haven't won 5 in a row yet for the Jackpot but I have built BRs on 3 different sites mostly from playing them and some MTTs. Had a nice $200 profit on Christmas Eve with a $100 cash in a $1k freeroll. I agree that the play at Full Tilt is better than alot of the other sites, but there are alot of donks on there too.

I currently play on Fulltilt (no deposit) and Titan (deposited) and have not noticed much difference in the level of play at the low limit games and freerolls. I might have to check out bodog if it really is that soft. Tbh though I do like Fulltilt and if I manage to get rakeback set up ill use the site alot more.

I haven't played on Titan in years but the level of play at the Full Tilt Freerolls up to the Full Tilt micro stakes cash games and single table sit n' goes is drastic. Before I deposited on Full Tilt I would play the Freerolls and I would say they are comparable to other site's freerolls - your typical first 30 minutes full on donk shoves, etc, then they wind down after about half the field has been eliminated. |
