Did I Just Find a FTP Replacement? I saw the large Bodog thread on here and decided to see what the current poker software looked like. It's kind of old school compared to Stars and yes FTP but simple in a good way. I also saw they are doing echecks with 25% bonuses on your first deposit. Sounds pretty cool. Anyone still playing on Bodog? How's the field? I saw someone mention a lot of sports bettors blow money in the poker room. This might be a nice change of pace since Stars and FTP are flooded with sharks.

I did email customer support asking them about changes from around 5 years ago till now and they responded in 15 minutes!!! They only do check cash outs which if you know me a little is why I am frustrated with FTP but they offer check by courier via FedEx which is awesome. I'll think about it. Wonder why David Williams was so ready to runaway from this site? |

Hope it helps. Best Regards onizuka Edit : be prepared to see the same player over and over again in every table. Players are less, I can see a same player at 8 from 10 tables I played. Last edited by onizuka : 11th November 2010 at 1:41 AM. Reason: Add some information |

re: Did I Just Find a FTP Replacement? poker I was at Bodog in 2007 and i liked it. The software then was a little shady and tables weren't resizable but I think they have that fixed now. Don't know about now but the games were way softer than FT. Plus I like to bet football every now and then and maybe some blackjack too. The thing is I think FT has forced me to be a better player. That and I think their software is addicting. It seems when I play anywhere else now I play well but can't stand to stare at anything but FT. Been awhile since I've been to Bodog though so I am thinking I may find someone to transfer me ten or twenty bucks over there. I should be able to build a roll from that and bet some football again. All in all Bodog is a pretty decent site to make some money. As long as they have all their software issues settled then I see no reason not to put money in their site.

I find that, if I play more than one table, or play at a couple of different sites while playing Bodog, it gets slowed way down.Sometimes the lag time can be 3-5 seconds. If I try to do something else while playing I will sometimes even lose the connection. When playing one game, it is a great site to play.

I still remain caught in between FTP and Bodog right now but I cannot overlook the benefit of Rush poker. Bodog capped me at $100 per 24 hours last night and even though it was nice to be able to call customer service on the phone and find this out, I ended up going on a $400 run in Rush. I now have the option on FTP to bank wire which has been my biggest complaint with the site since I am still waiting on a check from 10/26.

re: Did I Just Find a FTP Replacement? poker There are a ton of regulars in the larger buy-in games. I used to play there a lot in '07-'08. If you make deep runs in the guaranteed's, many times there are 3 or 4 people you recognize. I did well there and like the experience. Their customer service is great. I only stopped because the overlays changed when the buy-ins were upped.

The 24/7 phone support Bodog has is great. If FTP could add this feature they would definitely be bigger competition for Poker Stars. I'm going to assume they make a majority of their money from sports betting.

Bodog was one of the first sites I played when I started playing online poker. But like many others here, when I found Pokerstars and FT with their much larger traffic and smaller wait time I left Bodog behind. I still play once in a while on Bodog and still like playing there.

I played on Bodog over the summer and found it to be pretty soft at around the $10 MTT level. The beginner tournaments are also fairly soft. The hand history there is absolutely terrible though. I've moved to pokerstars because I like being able to choose more variety in games and because pokerstars often has starting stacks of 3k 2.5k and 2k. I hate starting with 1500 in chips. I find I fare much much better when starting deeper stacked. If you keep good notes on players you will frequently run into the same ones again and again. Tournament sizes are usually between 100-200 so the prize pools aren't humongous but still can get pretty big.

Yes, I find Bodog to be extremely soft at the limits I've played (up to 100NL cash, and $20 SnGs). SnGs take forever to fill up, though. Software is so-so, and lack of written HH's is overwhelmingly annoying. Just trying to look back at the last hand for review during play tilts me hard. The removal of player names makes it much hard to decipher the HH at a glance, especially if the pot was multi-way. 100NL on Bodog plays like 100NL live... in other words, about like 10NL on FT/Stars. Very soft. I won like 3BI's in the last few days, playing probably less than an hour per session. I've never seen even 25NL play this soft at the other sites. Not true about HEM/PT3 not working there. 3rd party poker handgrabbers are available which capture HH's for import. I used Idleminers grabber until the trial expired, I didn't buy it because HEM had announced they were working on their own built-in Bodog grabber. The latest version of HEM has it, but they're still refining it -- lots of posts in their forum about spotty success with it. I haven't seen it work but then again haven't taken the time to try and configure it. But once you have a working handgrabber, it works like any other site, and then you can use HEM/PT3 to review hands instead of their stupid HH viewer. Also not true about check-only cashouts. As with other sites, cashout options depend on the individual's history and location. Aside from the usual (and expensive) options like Bank Wires and Moneygrams, they support some off the wall payment services like MyPaylinQ. In fact, if you deposit via MyPaylinQ, that's the only way you can cashout -- you can't even request a check (if you do, they'll ignore it and cashout to MyPaylinQ anyway). I just cashed out of BD this week for the first time via MyPaylinQ, so we'll see how long it takes to go through. Bodog won't ever replace FT and Stars for me. The majority of my play is still on those sites, but BD makes for a nice and profitable diversion when I'm not in the mood to multi-table, or not looking to play a quick SnG.

Variety? I quit playing on bodog a couple years ago partly because of the lack of variety in games, almost all no limit holdem, and I love horse tourneys and though I was equally good at most games, checking my stats lately I am starting to realize maybe msotly N L holdem is good for me that seems to be the only thing i consistently have a high ROI in(+133%). This thread has me thinking maybe I should check back into bodog and see if there upgrades make a difference.

I have downloaded a few softwares (including bodog) trying to win money on a freeroll. Bodog will help you with any questions at any time where they have a hotline. I also like that they have pnts you can build up by playing on there and if you get so many you can play in restricted tourneys and stuff like that (I know a lot sites do that now but you can build pnts on there by just playing in freerolls.) I played in a 150$ freeroll rush poker tourney tonight on FT, I liked it. Its about impossible to do any good though on a freeroll on Fulltilt that is open to everybody because the number of people that gets in it, its ridiculous. I really liked rush poker though, something FT has over Pokerstars.
