Daniel Negreanu on Micro at PokerStars

So right now on PS, Daniel Negreanu (kidpoker) is playing 0.01/0.02 NL (Table Althaea) on Stars with like 400 ppl in line. Observer chat is out of control but rumoring that he has a wager with Phil Ivey to turn $10 into $100,000.

Anyone heard of this?

yeah so many spammers, and so many inline. It makes me laugh to see so many waiting since by the time the next 1 or 2 in line get seating he will leave, he wont be there forever lol...

There is a post by DN on FCP detailing what he is doing. Here is an excerpt

'OK, so I'm starting with $10 and playing ring game NL hold'em online at PokerStars. A few rules:

1. I won't move up in limits unless I have 500 big blinds for that limit. I'm starting at $0.01-$0.02 with a $10 bankroll.
2. When possible, my buy in amount will allow me 5 buy ins at that limit. For example, if I have $5 left, my buy in for the game will be $1. I'll continue to do that until I dip below the min buy in.
3. I will play only NL cash games.

lol now that I think about it, and how crazy their prop bets can be, i wonder if ivey bet him on how many on the waiting list he would get..lol

DN is in the op. FCP was/is DN's original forum and what used to be his online poker site till it was sold to PS. FCP = Full Contact Poker. I'm sure you can find it thru ant search engine.

He won't turn $10 into $100,000 in just side games. Can't be done. Jesus turned his money into $10,000 playing other games and multi tables. Daniel must have a big ego to think he won't go broke over and over again at that level to start with.

OMG how absolutely gorgeous would it be to see ChuckTs and DN at the same 6max table and see ChuckTs take his candy ass down . I picked ChuckTs because he's a fellow Canadian to DN and the slaughter would be sweeter for him.

Just so happens that I seen DN go bust last night a little after midnight.When I first spotted his table I observed him all-in and everyone was telling the guy to call and he was weak if he didnt call,after thinking for a long time the guy called and broke DN with A10 and a 10 on the board.DN mucked his hand but I guess he had J10.

I was just thinking about Daniel. I would love to sit on the rail watching him work his way through a tournament. I'm sure they only show the clashes on TV, but i would like to see what he does the rest of the time. I would like to see how aggressive he is and how he builds his stack. How lose/tight does he play in the beginning, how often he tries to steal, etc. To be a fly on the wall, I would probably learn a bunch by just watching him play!! He uses 'kidpoker' at PS?

I 2nd this . Look CF was one thing, and how he did it, I sure as hell can't, but DN@.1/.2 working it all the way to 100k, is un-do-able.

If he does this then I'll top him, but working 10 into 1Mill (Ya right, lol). But really though, ppl at those levels, will just donate left right and center just to donk DN, and then 10 is bye bye bye.

Haha... well... let me tell you a story.

I sold 1 million play chips on pokerstars last summer. I started with $10 just the same as him. I have never deposited, and never gone broke. Now I have a few hundred bucks and am only playing 10nl and less but I entirely plan to get up to much higher tables eventually. I have all the time left in my life. I am in no hurry at all.

I just play a much nittier BRM style than his at the micros, and I only play a hundred hands or so a day so it's gonna take me a lot longer. (not to mention hes slightly better at poker than me.)

But I don't see how you think beating the cash games (if thats what you mean by side games) isn't possible.

By the time he gets to $5/$10 he will hit his 100k in a matter of days or maybe weeks IMO.

I have to say that i am a fan of Daniel at PS because when i signed up he sent me a message and a free $5.00...I thought it was nice that the biggest and best poker site still wants to work a little for my attention by giving me a free $5...daniel is adding some much need customer service/appreciation to a lackluster team over there at PS

I find it amazing how many people will sacrifice their dignity to try and talk to these pros when they play in these lower level games. I can understand waiting inline for a chance to play with them, but to go into observer chat and act like some teenage girl going nuts for some teen idol, come on, just grow up.

Why he wants to waste his time with a projekt like that I will never understand.

Love of the game? Sponsorship $$$ from stars? If you can't see past some pennies how can you play good poker?

I saw the 320 players was on waiting list! Kidpoker played on full ring micro limit!

Chris Fergusson played on freeroll and CG and cash tour gathering 100 000$ maybe half year.?!

Kidpoker has poker knowledge, he has maybe 1-2 mounth 500-1000$.

Talking about online pros and those who sit on the rail like giddy schoolgirls.
I just peeped LadyMaverick(Vanessa Rousso), the railers are pathetic, I had a little class.
I stopped in and typed "LadyMaverick, absolutely beautiful, that is all I came here to say" and left.

I believe any good player who has PATIENCE and DESIRE to make it can make $10 into $100,000. Problem is it will take a long time.. And I think DN will not make it.. Not because he got no skill.. he has enough, but because he has so much money he will eventually give up.. Why play penny tables for hours a day while he could be playing higher stakes and actually be making money for himself? In 1 month if he is not in at least $1/$2 he is going to give up....

When you have all the money you need there are other motivations that bubble to the top. DN has said why he's doing this and I think his motivation at the beginning was very high to do something he thought was a 'cool challenge'. But as has been said we'll see if this will be enough motivation to gind onwards. He has updated his progress as of yesterday Jan. 21

I'd guess that PokerStars is offering him some sort of substantial bonus if he can meet this challenge. It's a good promotion for them. It encourages people to make their first deposits so they can do the same thing Daniel did.

We wont know if that's the case since he did not say anything about it. So either he is getting something from PS or he is doing it for himself. From the blogs i read he said that he is doing it for himself to get to know game on all the levels... Is it for his own research? Is he planning on releasing some videos for his POKERVT website one day? Who knows.. But i also remember him saying that this year he wants more free time for himself so I wont be surprised that in a month or 2 if he isnt doing as good as he predicted/expected to be doing he will give up.. will see..

He's already made $2nl videos from those sessions for PokerVT . I think his latest blog said they'd be posted soon.

I think he will make it because every idiot on the table will be trying to bust him all-in with garbage. Daniel plays limp/aggressive style a lot. It will suit him fine at the 1/2 tables.

Thats kinda cool how he's playing min NL tables to build a br and see how far he can go. Ther odds of being able to sit with him at this level are crazy, but just imagine how much rake he will produce for PS once he get up in levels....lol

should be interesting to see, dont know if it possible only on cash game.ill try to watch him
