Conned or not by high pulse?

I have been playing off and on at High Pulse poker for a while now. At the moment you can only win money by playing freeroll's as they are still in beta form. I have contacted them several times and they tell me that they are in the final stages of getting there licence. They have been telling me this since the beginning of the year, when they were actually suppose to of gone live. Also they were running 20 satellite's and sending the winners to Las Vegas for a wpt tournament. I was one of the lucky winner's, 12 days after all the satellite's had been played i received an e mail. I will post this below and would love to know people opinion's on this.

The whole package is actually worth about 4000$ as it includes a 1000S buy in to a wpt tournament, 500$ spending money, flights and accommodation.

So you got the package for free, and they are still offering you $1K, and you still complain ?

But the point is, the site doesn't allow withdrawals.

OP, don't count your eggs until they hatch, and stay off dodgy smaller sites like High Pulse.

You are correct aldito they can only pay in beta money as they have not gone live.

@ariesj11 I have had exactly the same experience from High Pulse after also winning a WPT package. I received the same email. Its a pretty lame excuse for them to give as I believe the real reason must be that they still have not been granted their licence. Good to hear that I am not the only person unhappy with their decision. I only valued the package at around $2000 but as it is still only virtual "beta" values its still pretty meaningless. Another factor in my shrinking faith is the lack of website updates. The posts there haven't been updated since the second of March and they are still advertising their WPT packages. We can live in hope that it goes live and honours its pledge to turn the beta winnings into actual cash . . . I won't hold my breath.

My advice is to stay away from new sites like this...you just might be wasting your time.Without legislation,they can do whatever they want...including disappearing...just my opinion...

Hi Pokercaster i have heard that we should be receiving an email of a revised offer of 3000$ for the vegas trip and yes it is in beta form. I have spoken to them via skype and they say that things are looking positive and they will go
live in a short period of time. i am q8jay on hp who are you on hp?

Hi pokercaster, not heard anything for definate but there has been slight changes at high pulse recently. I have spoken to several peolple who play at the site and they seem to think that these slight changes could be good news for high pulse. I have spoken to jacob appel direct asking him when the official date of opening is but will only answer saying that a newsletter will be sent out shortly. Just wondering if you have heard anymore news yourself.

Hi pokercaster, i just logged into high pulse and i see that they now have their licence. We should all be receiving a newsletter tomorrow i have been told. Should be able to withdraw monies shortly hopefully.

Yes I received the newsletter however haven't had anything since . They have however opened the PLO games and if anyone is intrested then they are good games with a VERY soft crowd . I would recommend these games to anyone who wishes to improve their general poker skills . I am still quite curious as to why they haven't updated their website beyond removing the WPT advertising . I guess its still a "cross your fingers and hope for the best" kind of situation .

I also won one of the WPT packages, and after High Pulse cancelled the WPT campaign I was offered us$ 1.000, I rejected and after a week they offered me us$ 3.000 instead, I still rejected, but they didnt pay attention and just filled my account with us$ 3.000 in beta dollars. So it seems every WPT packages winner was offered us$ 3.000 in betadollars instead. I am in contact wih another WPT package winner with same story. My user at HigPulse is CeresRoyal, maybe we should keep in touch in this case? I think they try to keep the project alive since they allready put a lot of work and money in it. The people behind HighPulse is related to a part of the founders of PokerChamps (Gus Hansen) sold to Betfair @ 10 mill. £ .
I am in direct contact with the manager of HighPulse and it seems they need more investors before they go live. Like you I hold my breath and hope for a solution soon as possible.

Hi Ceres, I have heard that we should be receiving a newsletter sometime this month, explaining how to withdraw beta money and when the are going live. Like yourself i do belief there is some sort of issue with their backing. Its funny how they now have their gaming licence, just after they cancel vegas and the fact it is taking so long to going live.

Be leery of any new sites that offer too-good-to-be-true freerolls when they haven't generated a dime in rake. The only credibility I give High Pulse is that their CEO/investor is apparently a billionaire (or former billionaire) named Erik Damgaard who founded an IT company that was sold to Microsoft. However, two years ago, he and his blonde gf got arrested for pimping and in other news he's facing financial problems. Other founders of the company include Jeppe Juhl, the first Danish player to win a WCOOP tournament, and Henrik Olsen (a cofounder of Poker Champs).

But you only lost time, now run for the hills and quit wasting more time (or god forbid money) on ridiculous small poker sites with too-good-to-be-true offers and freerolls.

yeah you will be much safer on a site like full tilt poker and after they are banned pokerstars. Your money is absolutely safe in online poker so dont worry about it, everything is good. Good luck. :-)

Bad title man, how did you get conned? You didn't even lose any money. Seriously...your title should've been when "When Will High Pulse Get there License? Don't complain that you got conned if there was no deposit made. More like High Pulse is giving away free money when they become license.

they got their licence months ago.they had a count down clock in december 2010.they were to launch in may.they say they are launching in 2 months.sure no one has lost any money.but people have put a lot of time in here.i hope it does launch some people have 3/4k in beta dollars.

well I think they will launch soon, they put up some USD 2000 freerolls satellites which will be played the first 5 days of launch

I have been in constant contact with them for several months now, they have said time and time again its just around the corner, but these recent developments are making it look a lot more positive for the future of high pulse going live

Yes you are correct i did not lose any money but when i was originally offered 1000$ for a package worth about 3500$, i thought this was an un realistic offer for what i won. Everyone was given 3000$ for the package in the end, for which i was happy to accept.

They received their license so I am looking forward to their launch as I am broke and already won 158$ and signed up 8 of my friends aswell. Anybody have news about when they launch?

hi jay, they have sat 1 registering for 1 month. assuming they dont want to make idiots out off themselves. real money launch has to happen before or at this time.

I heard this site is going live in October. Quite like the software so hope it does well.

I see the $2000 real money freerolls which are saying Tournament date yet to be determinate exact. I believe they will launch soon, but this time they wanna be 100% sure. I read that the guys behind it comes from Pokerchamps? Maybe Gus Hansen is a shareholder? Anyway their software is really cool and cannot see any reason for them not to go live soon

High pulse has decided on an exact date but will be revealing it and new software in the next 2 weeks.
