HI ALL,

I'm new to this forum and i thought i would put my 2 cents in on a certain poker site. I hope that all read this and learn from it. The site is called CLubWpt. Here are the reasons to not play on here.

1. I paid as a member for 1 month, yes it's 19.95 a mth, i must say that i do like that instead of sites like jokerstars that rob you of your money. Now, getting back to my reason, after winning $35.00 in that month, and collecting my winnings, they have given me all crap cards, as i still play on the site for free, and play the freeroll games.

2. I talked to other members on the site and asked them how long it takes to get a check, and they all basically stated the same thing 2 weeks, well not for me, i cashed out jan. 13/2010 and it is now feb. 8, 2010 and still no check.

3. As i was playing in tournaments while i was a member, they would add players to the tables after sign up was closed, well, you ask, how, lol.....the employees that work there, i saw it my self.

4. Another reason, they have wpt employees play in tournaments while working and win the tournaments, all to funny...

5. If you ask a question or basically be rude about it, your done like dinner, forget about winning any hands, same as jokerstars.

6. The cards that win on this site are the worst hands, and always catch on the river, 100% of the time.

7. I raise and in position and or push all in, and it's funny that i have a better percentage of winning and you get some "donkey", or should i say employee that calls with 6 8 off and flops a str8, make you wonder, well i'm here to tell all and hope you all can learn from this...

I hope all of you pass this message on and do not join club wpt..Some will say that i had a bad experience, well save your breath, or wait some employee will read this and comment on it and say it's the best site, lol.....DON'T BE FOOLED PEOPLE!!!!!!!

Also, think about it, if you put $20.00 mth away in your bank, at the end of the year, it's $240.00 at the end of the year, and more......

CLUB WPT is a SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no rake!!! don't even think about joining, i just played on a freeroll $10, and i was dealt AA, i had a total of 3 other callers, all in pre,
my hand AA
other hand AK not suited
other moron AK not suited
and 10 9 the wpt employee, and flop comes 10 7 3

I have been a member of Club WPT for awhile now. Got interested when it was on TV. It may not be for everyone but I enjoy being able to play a tournament at pretty much any time of day. When my bankroll is in bad shape and I don't feel like depositing at another poker site, I can always play at Club WPT.

True, the bad beats come much more often but you have to take each tournament for what it is....a freeroll. If you play them knowing you will have more donkeys in them and adjust your play accordingly, you can do fine.

As far as employees playing in them...who knows. I guess it is possible but any online site could be questionable in that matter.

A few things I like about the site...$1000 freerolls almost every night, $10,000 freeroll last Saturday of every month, chance to win entry into WPT events, and Elimination Blackjack Tournaments (also freerolls).

Have I profited? I have cashed. I have not covered my membership fee ( which CAN be less than $20/mo. if you choose to pay quarterly, semi-annually, or annually), however, for my purposes...which is mostly entertainment...it is a good deal.

Not my kind of site spadeclub, pureplay, clubwpt all same all wacky in my mind. I stand by the fact that the game can be somewhat streaky. I also find it odd so many people blame the site when this streakiness happens.

Club WPT is the first on-line site I ever tried. I've been playing poker for 40+ years and have played many live tournaments and even won a couple. I knew after a few hours playing that ClubWPT was rigged. Way more marginal hands win on the river than happens live. I figure they have a player rating algorithm that favors players whose time to pay their monthly/quarterly/yearly dues is near. The objective of course is to maximize their cash intake by making those people feel "lucky", and more apt to renew. There are probably other things going on as well and I considered trying to game the software but decided that the site is a waste of time so deleted it. I hope the other sites are not as obviously crooked.

Oh, yeah. I won some cash on this site on like the second or third tournament I played during my trial membership. Then I questioned their software. Didn't get my cash and never came close to winning anything again.

I heard leron washington won the WPT Invitational, and he qualified by beating a ton of people at Club WPT. Now thats pretty cool.

IF YOU ARE GOING TO CRY ABOUT A BAD BEAT BY SAYING OMG THE GAME IS RIGGED OR MAYBE EMPLOYEES JOIN TO WIN. STOP BEING A SISSY AND PLAY SMARTER. LIKE THE IDIOT THAT WENT ALL IN WITH AA. COME ON MAN HOW MANY TIMES HAS THAT HAPPENED EVEN AT A BUDDYS HOUSE PLAYING THERE, OR AT A CASINO. I THINK EVERY PLAYER LEARNS HOW TO HOLDEM AND WHEN TO JUST FOLDEM. I JOINED CLUB WPT WHEN IT STARTED AND I ALREADY WON SEATS TO 3 TOURNAMENTS 2 OF THEM PUT ME ON TV A COUPLE OF TIMES. I HAVE WON 32,000 AND WINNINGS AND YES I RECEIVED A CHECK FRO WPT FOR THAT AMOUNT. PLEASE JOIN AND HAVE FUN FOLKS.

I thought there was a thread on here about how you don't have to pay to become a VIP on ClubWPT? So why would anyone pay? Guess no one reads the fine print these days...

I love how these posts only come from new members as their first post.

Do you really think a site represented by a respectable name brand like World Poker Tour would risk their whole company to hustle people outta 20$ a month... lol

yeah i think as others have said, you are experiencing freeroll poker dynamics

WPT is solid brand name in the poker world ... they obviously have a formula that allows them to make money regardless of who wins and why would they risk their good name by creating a rigged poker site?? ... just for the thrill of picturing you behind your keyboard throwing a fit b/c someone with a short handle indicating that he may have signed up very early to the site with T9o busted your Aces?

you gotta look at the big picture

my problem with a site like this is that i would feel like i wasn't getting my money worth unless i played a lot ... and i don't think feeling like you should play is a good formula for playing your best poker, but obviously i have no experience with this site or others like it

Have been playing on WPT for about 1 week now and I must say it is not what I expected. The number one complaint I have is for as much $ they make every mth they have a measley 100 grand payout with only one 10,000 tourney a mth. All the other tourneys are a joke. In fact I think the whole site is a joke just to get your money.
How many points do you really need. Even if you have a million points you can only play in 1 10,000 a mth anyway and the rest as I said are really not worth my time to win $100 against 7000 players. The site is set up for free roll style and the winner is whoever is standing when the dust has settled. If that is for you then you have more time to waste than I. Well, I could go on and on but you see my point. Maybe one day there will be a sie were we can actually win some money. This site I bet gets over 30m every mth so you see how meager 100,000 payout is.

Have been at WPT for about a month now, not sure if I am going to renew; there are some positives and some negatives.
Positives:
1.) Gives a whole new meaning to the descriptive word "Grinder" as the grind is tremendous to get past reckless, loose, aggressive, and solid players, this is not wholly distinct or unique to the site/ play but with Tourneys starting every 15 minutes the practice one can get in without actually risking dollars is phenominal.
2.) 100K in monthly cash and prizes for a $20 monthly membership fee; plus other club benefits.
3.) Has definitely helped improve my tourney play
Negatives:
1.) The software as has been mentioned by so many others is very frustrating to say the least. 10-15 second timers to make a check, bet, call, or raise, if no action is taken in time your hand is autofolded.
2.) No disconnect protection
3.) Very small tourney cashes; largest cash is a seat at a WPT event plus travel expenses; but these entrys are few and far between i believe there are 1 or 2 of these a month; and 2k-3k people enter if not more. Only 1 place wins the seat to a WPT event.
Choices for U.S. players are very limited at present, but if ClubWPT made some software upgrades it would certainly encourage me to remain a club member. I believe there is around 14,000 members who play at WPT but conservatively if it were only 12,000 x 19.95/month=$239,400. Then they have operating expenses, the 100k in monthly cash/prizes, and whatever else. I am still undecided about renewing, but at present I am leaning towards cancellation.
