What would you rather have? Would you want to have the chip leader at your table mid way in a MTT? Why or why not? And no depends statement here. You all have played at one time or another with the chip leader. What were your feelings about the experiance?

This is a hard one to answer, but I'll give it a try.
The reason why I would like the chip leader at my table is to see his style of play and use it to my advantage, being the chip leader he will be a bully and be really a LAG player and knowing this I will play tag and my monsters will get paid off by this leader.....just bring on that chip leader. some chip leaders seem to forget how they accumulated the chips they have and end up donking off half their chips before they wake-up again. |

I want the chip leader at my table. In the MTT's that I play in, that are $1 to $3 buy-ins, I find that the chip leaders don't always know how to be the big stack. They think that its their duty to knock out the short stacks and will happily call off large chunks of their stack. They don't always realise that they have to identify the correct times to do this and they never think about protecting their stack. I can use this to my advantage when i'm short stacked and even when i'm averaged stacked. I'll always look for the opppertunity to get my chips in against them when I have the best of it.

First of all, great thread. I have just started playing MTT's and found myself in both positions recently. I think that I would rather have the chip leader at my table than be the chip leader. When chip leader, I found at times that people think you are just trying to steal pots when you raise and call with marginal hands and somehow ending up beating you. (I know that will not happen all the time, I am just going by my expirence so far)
