Chat issue resolved by Doyle's room director Trish Salazar

11/20/2008

I decided to spectate the 25k bounty tournament involving Poker legend Doyle Brunson and Michael Caro. Michael Caro told another player to make the call in hopes of eliminating him to win the bounty placed on his head.

In the chat-room, I stated "$500 is chump change in the ashtray of his car". "It is what he tips the hooker while staying at the Wynn". Thereafter, the tournament host and director of Poker operations Trisha Salazar warned me about making such statements in the chat-room. She was less than cordial when engaging me through the chat-room, and threatened to disable my chatting privileges along with my entire account freezing any assets I have.

I told her that just because she is some rich L.A type kissing the asses of these millionaire pros that there was no reason for her to engage me in such a demeaning manner.

Thereafter, my computer screen flickered and my task-bar disappeared then reappeared. The program was closed. In fact, the program was no longer present on my applications list. This program has a hidden self-destruct sequence that can be enabled locally by controlling members of Doyle's room gaming site.

Need more foundation? I contacted supported and got this.
Nancy: Hi, welcome to our Poker Room and Casino.
Nancy: How may I help you?
you: My chat was terminated why?
you: Tell Trish that we can reconcile.
you: No hard feelings.
you: And don't me like you don't know who she is.
Nancy: Trish is host at the final table
you: I know this.
you: She is spiteful. And I want a divorce.
Nancy: ok
Nancy: Is there anything else I can assist you with?
you: Yeah. She locked me out of my account.
Nancy: Can I have your e-mail address, please?
you: mmy screen name is sl65
you: And, and, unless the 2+2 forums wants to hear about how she circumvented my pc, I'd suggest telling her not to do it again.
you: That is unlawful computer manipulation.
Please wait while I transfer the chat to 'Joe Wilson'.
You are not currently in a chat session.
You are now chatting with 'Joe Wilson'
Joe Wilson: hi
Joe Wilson: Joe Wilson here
you: Good evening.
Joe Wilson: your account will not be enabled tonight
Joe Wilson: contact Trish tomorrow
you: Are you aware that she manipulated the software on my computer to make it shut down?
Joe Wilson: yes, she locked your account
you: 2+2 forums will have a field day with this.
you: Because I made a comment about phil hellmouth
you: And a hooker at the wynn
Joe Wilson: do not forget to add you were harassing people at the final table and ignored her warnings
you: I was not harassing anyone.
you: By any means.
you: Being jovial does not constitute harassment.
Joe Wilson: it is a free country
Joe Wilson: you can do whatever you wish
you: I am not trying to be confrontational with you.
Joe Wilson: your account will not be enabled tonight
you: But I find it inappropriate that this program was shut down on my actual pc.
you: Disabling my account access is one thing, but to interfere with my processes of my system.
you: Not ethical
Joe Wilson: talking about ethics
Joe Wilson: anyway
Joe Wilson: you can get back to her tomorrow
you: Please e-mail me the conversation in which I was supposedly harassing members of the tournament.
Joe Wilson: no sorry
you: I would like to have it outlined as to where I harassed anyone.
Joe Wilson: her notes are enough for me
you: Well you have been cordial.
Joe Wilson: now, if you don't have any other comments, I will let you go now
you: One more
Joe Wilson: have a great night
you: I have a question
you: Is she hot?
Chat session has been terminated by the site operator.

Why wouldn't he send me the chat conversation to substantiate my so-called harassment? Because there was none!

This is not about having my account disabled as much as it is about having an unauthorized intruder access my computer through a back-door in the program to disable the process and remove it from my list of programs.

That's called computer intrusion!

And I also lost all the money remaining on my account. There is obviously nothing I can do about this either. The fact that there is a small chance my account will be reinstated is irrelevant to the fact that the Doyle's Room Poker application has a built-in backdoor to allow certain authorized individuals to gain access to your secure computer.

This is just more fuel to support so many of those who accuse sites of having access to your whole cards during game play. I mean if your computer can be accessed, then tell me why in the hell isn't it fair to concur that your whole cards can be accessed too.

You need to grow up, you sound like an obnoxious brat, what makes you think the ppl playing the final table wanted to hear from you, the comments you made re PH and Trish were rude and offensive.
You got what you deserved.

A note from a software developer:

When your "in" an online poker room, you are really just running a "client" or software program locally on your machine. The client is in constant communication with a server controlled by the poker room site. Your client software asks the server "what do I do next?". The server sends "packets" to your client that instruct it to do various things, such as display the flop, show your bet, show your hole cards, etc.

When you installed the client software, you agreed to use it under the terms of the End User License Agreement. You agreed to use their software and their service under their terms. If you violate their terms, they are certainly well within their rights to answer your next request from your client software asking "what do I do next?" with the answer of "uninstall yourself from the host system".

If they close your account and you had money their, they will most likely send you a check for the balance just as a bank might do if you walked in and began abusing the tellers or other customers. "Sorry sir, your account is now closed. Here's your money. Don't let the door hit you in the butt on your way out."

Now had they had a routine built into their client that could be instructed to remove "other" software (such as other poker room clients) then you might have a legal issue.... but it would be extremly difficult case to "prove".

I agree with your comments were out of line. When she came in an warned you rather than being a smart ass you should have just said Ok sorry. I learned that from teachers/parents a long time ago. The authority has the power and you pushed it to see what would happen. Guess you know now, lol

You are not going to get any sympathy here. It is always a disgrace when people like you rail pro games. I don't blame them for the actions they took - it was well deserved. If I had an account there I would send both Trish and Joe an email complimenting them on how they handled the situation.

Oh.. and I changed your thread title since it was not an accurate claim.

I never understood why "outsiders" are allowed to chat anyway. You can turn off the players chat but not them. Perhaps this is the answer.

I'm not sure if 2+2 would have a field day with this since technically abusing the rules can technically ban you from opening the client. And yes, you will get your money back, but if you dont then there is a HUGE problem

Please, all you uptight ****ing douche-bags, spare me the lecturing about how I acted immature in a chat-room. Let me EMPHASIZE on the fact that it is a chat-room. Chat-rooms have a feature known as a "block" which will disable any correspondence from the specific user in which selected. Moreover, there is no rules which stipulates that I cannot makes jovial remarks. As long as I did not directly engage any member during the tournament with malice or disrespect, there was absolutely no reason to shut down my account or utilize a hidden back door in the program to intrude my computer.

And for those of you who want to sit there and attack me, then claim I was immature and disrespectful, don't be a ****ing hypocrite!

I guess if I finish first in a large pay-out tournament that makes me a pro, right? Then I am a pro. Which means I can banter the rail whenever the **** I please.
