I Just downloaded century poker and seen that they have a lot of freerolls with hardly anyone in them. Just wondering if anyone plays here and if it is a good site to start trying my luck on

Yes, Century does accept US players and it offers numerous freerolls. I have yet to put any of my own money in, but continue to play with freeroll winnings. Haven't yet requested a payout, so I don't know how they compare with, say, bodog....who still owes me $95. It's now been 31 days since bodog approved the payout. Getting approved is the easy part (took 20 minutes). Getting bodog's money is another matter entirely.

Century Poker - Concerns

Players:

I was a long-time customer of Golden Palace Poker (GPP) and, needless-to-say, was saddened when I received the notice that GPP was closing it's doors to American players. However, I thought my fears were alleviated when I heard that the US business including all funds were being transferred to Century Poker as well as the same game format I was accustomed to. Unfortunately, I discovered that the same game formats I liked did not exist and, therefore, I elected to withdraw my winnings.

First thing that was required was clearance from their security department which requires dumentation I consider very confidential. This included copy of drivers license, copy of credit card statement used to open the account, and copy of checking account statement (they only issue checks for winnings).

After I jumped through these hoops I was informed that there was "trouble" with their bank. Apparently, their institution refused to issue checks to US players forcing them to find another bank. On April 3, 2007, I received notice that they retained a new bank, but to date have yet to see a penny of my winnings or even the original deposit.

I've Googled Century poker and there are more bad results than good.

My suggestion...caution ahead.

wow, you really gave them all that confidential info? are you on drugs?
You just gave them all the info they need to steal your Identity buddy and I really hope this is not the case.
Was there a reasonable amount in your poker account to justify giving such personal info?

century poker

I have played there since golden palace poker closed to u.s. players. On March 12th I requested a payout and it is still pending today, a month and a half later. I have sent them 3 emails, all have not been responded to and when I call their customer service I just get put on hold and nobody ever picks up. I would advise everyone to stay away from this site.

I realized that providing this company (Century Poker) was a potentially risky proposition, and I blacked out a lot of information on the documents they requested. I also contacted my financial institutions to be wary of any unusual transactions...nothing has happened to date. Apparently other sites such as Ultimate Bet require similar documents prior to releasing payments. Do a search on this site and the question is raised frequently. Now if Century Poker would just pay me...LOL

Excellent information. Thanks. Maybe if enough of us email them to let them know we won't be depositting any of our money until they fix their cash out procedures, they'll straighten up. Let's not hold our breaths. But if anyone wants to email them, the address is: admin@centurypoker.com

Slow Payouts or NO Payouts

ON the second day after my funds were transferred to Century Poker I entered the 5K freeroll and took 2nd place for a $750 win. I requested a check for that amount and left my previous balance in place. It's now been 8 weeks and although I can generally get someone on the phone, I rarely get any answers other than the "new bank", trouble paying US players, "checks going out Friday", etc.....

I can't even log on to the site this morning.....

I understand the operation is on a network promoted by Daniel Negreanu but my email to him went unanswered. I'm guesing we'll never see our funds so if someone has gotten a check, I would love to know about it.

Century Poker Payout Excuses

So I just got off the phone with "customer service" for CP and now they tell me I have to send in documents verifying bank accounts, photo ID, etc.... After 9 weeks waiting and after 2 previous calls to them they now tell me I have to submit all these docs. What BS!!!!!!!!! You couldn't tell me the last two calls and now you blame it on me for not reading the terms and conditions......

I'll be pulling all funds from CP as soon as possible. I don't see this site lasting long and advise all to get their money out ASAP!!!!!!!!!

When it comes to an organisation looking after your money, I think you really have to be 99-100% sure that they are legitimate. Top sites with good reputations include all the "biggies" like Party, Poker Stars, Ultimate, Full Tilt Poker, etc. It's best to steer clear of small, less established sites asking you to send highly confidential info in my opinion (this is why I didn't touch Mansion Poker with a barge pole).
Sites connected to UK betting companies like Coral, William Hill, Ladbrokes and Paddy Power Poker are also pretty secure and reliable.

Century Poker!!!!?????

Hey,

To answer your question, yes I love Century's Freeroll's. They go so fast and the play is generally bad. If you like omaha, they have two great tournies daily for hi/lo and if you deposit/make money and earn comp points you can get in on the comp point freerolls that have even fewer people and even better prize pools!!

So I was replying to the post that appeared on top there, and just read down. Now I'm rather concerned, Nashbiker did you get your check yet? Thats a lot of money to miss out on. I requested a smaller check about a month ago, let me know if/when you get your check. If you get your $$$ its a decent site otherwise im scared now!!
