Carbon Poker - The VIP program that isn't Hi everyone, Ok. So I haven't been playing much (at all) since BF. Anyway, in December I finally gave-in and signed up with Carbon Poker. By mid-way through the month I had earned enough VIP points to be upgraded to their "Earth" tier. This never happened. I assumed, then, that I would be upgraded at the beginning of January, at least, if they weren't going to do a mid-month upgrade like Stars always did. Nope. Nothing. What they DID do was set all my VIP points earned back to zero so that I am now starting all over again, no upgrade, no nothing. I contacted support and got the usual non-response of something like "we are aware of the problem and are working on it to correct it ASAP.....blah, blah, blah. Still nothing. It's beyond me why/how my monthly VIP points have no problem automatically resetting every month, but when it comes time for an upgrade that, somehow, isn't automatic as well. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone else here is having the same problem or if you have had a similar problem with Carbon in the past. Also, now that I'm thinking of it.... If you had this problem and so weren't earning any cash back, when you should have been, was it retro-actively applied to your account once they correctly upgraded you or not? I'm a micro-stakes cash/ small buy-in tournament player, so the amount would be minimal in my case, but if this happens to a considerable number of Carbon's players, or happens to their higher-level players, it could be a considerable amount of money that Carbon is withholding once it has been earned. Accident? You decide. /rant (for now). Thanks,

OK. So this afternoon Carbon finally fixed the problem. I still don't see why this is such a big deal. Your level should just automatically update when you reach the required number of VIP points. It shouldn't take the involvement of anyone at all - it should just be coded into the software - simple bit of code, thats all it would take. Anyway, fixed (for now), we'll see if I have to start the process all over again next month.

I understand your frustration, but I think that, despite the fact that you are correct and this kind of problems shouldn't happen, it should all be automatic... at least they fixed it, and they fixed it fast. I honestly think Carbon is a good Poker Room.

Yeah, no further complaints this month... yet. Still don't understand why no mid-month upgrade once you've earned it though. Also, traffic is pretty weak; only about 5,000 or so most times. Guess PS just has me spoiled.... Stars....COME BACK.....Puhleez.....
