Can you have two computers on the same connection on FT?

My friend and I both qualified for the rush week freeroll, but he can't play his entry. Is there a way for me to bring both our accounts up and play both?

Sure you can. In fact why not run 8 computers and try your luck at the 9 man SnG's?
I think if two computers (multi's from one IP address) are registered in the same tourney, you'd be banned for collusion for LIFE.
If he can't play, he can't play. If you try and play it for him and get caught out (and Tilt will be able to trace the IP) then you may need to find a new poker site.... sorry.

You're just not getting it! It's wrong to play on u friends account-period(it's called cheating). If they catch you both u friends and your accounts will be closed with all money that u have there gone.

Lots of people run more than one computer from the same IP address on the same poker site. There are restrictions you need to be aware of though if doing so (ie. you can't both enter the same tournament unless there's a certain # of entrants in them... I think it's 45players +). They will make exceptions if you contact support (ie. for playing priv. tourneys).

In most cases this happens when it's more than one person in the same family playing on a poker site (ie. husband & wife, etc.).
Just sayin.... the auto ban for life thing is a bit extreme.... BUT for sure you should be aware that doing what you're planning on doing is against the rules on every poker site (you can't be multi-accounting... OR playing someone else's acc't.). Read up on the rules on the poker site you're playing on.

So if two poker players live in the same house, and have different accounts, but play from the same network, they won't allow that? Guess it makes sense, and the solution is that you just play at different sites.

NO, you can play but as PO pointed out you can't play sngs and small field MTTs (not sure about size though) at the same time as your partner.

I personally contacted FT support and asked them since both me and Bianca play - sometimes even at the same time.

They aswered that it's perfectly alright - if we don't collude.

Contact FT support and ask them whether you and your friend may play that tourney from one IP - and be sure not to chip-dump or collude.

FT will allow 2 seperate accounts to play in the same tourney at the same time from the same IP address. You will NOT be allowed to play in a cash game, it just will not let the second account register. I'm sure there are husband and wife teams here at Cards Chat who play in the same tourneys at the same time. You will definately have to register from a different PC.

As mentioned above, do NOT play your friends account, as this would be cause for a suspension of both accounts. It isn't worth it.

I once found a notebook of my sons which contained Usernames and passwords for various pokersites. He was not 18 at the time so he ysed my birthdate to open these accounts. It was perhaps 5 years after he opened the accounts when I found them. I emailed all the sites and explained what had happened. I went into the accounts to look at the personal information contained in the site and when I did I received a phonecall from the security/support at the site stating I was not supposed to be on someone elses account.

Point being, they know what you are doing!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was able to play free rolls and 5 point BLT qualifiers so far with in the same house I/P with different people/accounts but, got a message about having the same I/P and wouldnt let us play a ring game.

IN my experience (being a massive cheater) I have tried to play with my neigbour using his wireless connection from my house, in a play chips game a few years back. However, the full tilt site kept booting one of out of the site, so we were never able to play. I don't know if this would still happen but anyone else know what i am talking about,

dude you can play from the same ip, it is a MTT after all, you wont be banned for collusion. plus fulltilt has programs against cheaters, you cant join a sng or a cash games (same table that is) from 1 ip, no problem playing a MTT tho, they wont put you to the same table and most likely you wont make it to the final table with both accounts.

I was wondering the same thing one day at a friends house, when we decided to experiment with this. We figured out that if you get into ANY game using an one IP address, and then once registered move your computer to a different network, you would be able to play at the same table regardless of a ring game or not. It appears as though the poker sites concentrate on IP duplication when you sign in.

brothers too. my brother and i have played from the same place, and both been able to play on ps. we never play on the same table/collude. Sometimes we will play together when we are both at school, then i take all his money

^^^^All good advice. On the 1st point in bold, however, I would hope they did now allow exceptions to the 45 rule. Some of our buy-ins have had only 2 tables. And while collusion can happen via severals venues, IMO it's not fair to all the others (unless everyone regiatered approves) knowing that 2 people could be sitting right next to each other on the couch at the same table.

On the 2nd highlight in bold, This may be true, but probably impossible to prove. Maybe I should never put this in writing, but there have been a handful of times where my boyfriend had to drive home (10 minutes away), had a big stack, and asked me to play until he gets there - most often a freeroll donkfest. If anyone sees that as unethical or morally corrupt, well... too bad. We live together now, so not an issue. And we do play in the same MTTs occasionally. FT says not a problem at all.

To the OP, it can be done and you'd probably get away with it. It is against the rules. You didn't ask for advice or opinions, so I'm not gonna give you any. Just the facts (or what I believe they are).

I found myself in a similar situation a couple of weeks ago. I emailed FT about it and within a few hours heard back from them what is allowed and what is not. I'd suggest just emailing them. Question asked and answered...then you don't have to speculate or worry over it.

I was told that if a family member/friend and I tried to register for a tournament using the same IP address and it wouldn't go through...then that tournament is not allowed for that situation.

Rush cash table is an exception to the cash table restriction.

Sounds like a winner!Why worry about it so much.Just contact the site and see what they have to say about it and then act upon it accordingly.Just do the right thing in the instance and see what the outcome will be.Just assuming your doing the right thing isn't always the right thing to do in all instances.Sometimes you have to check with the powers that be in order to see that your doing the right thing or not.

What OP is suggesting is probably something he could get away with (for awhile, at least), but is DEFINITELY against the site TOC. You are not supposed to play on anyone else's account, nor allow anyone to play on yours.

Yes, two people can each sign up for their own accounts from the same location, and in a lot of cases, both play their own accounts in the same tournament, and still be within their rights as far as TOC goes. But that's not what OP was suggesting. OP wants to cheat and play on his buddy's account AND his own, at the same time.

Me and my brother both play on fulltilt from the same house, we have played in the same tourny and even have similar id names

the smallest field we have been in together is 60 players (private freeroll), neither of us have ever heard from customer support, i'm pretty sure we aren't doing anything wrong

we have played a $5000 GP @ Titan together and both starting on the same table by luck, even that was no issue

Glad to hear I just got my brother playing FT and we've played some free rolls at each others house on different laptops. I dont have any real money on there right now any way but its nice to know
