Cake Poker is Easy So I was wondering if anyone is noticing that Cake Poker is significantly easier then Stars or FTP at equal stakes. Clarification: I play 100NL+ but most of my hands have came from 400NL. I have had a pretty small sample(~5k hands), however, most of the tables I have sat at seem reg infested, yet I am pretty much crushing it. Although its a really small sample size, I am noticing that play seems pretty weak there I'm deciding as to whether to stay at Cake,(i have 40%RB) or move to a different site. I'm interested in profit/learning and growing as a poker player. sidenote: cakes software makes me mad lol Last edited by Infamous1020 : 15th April 2009 at 8:13 AM.

I also just started playing on cake, traded a friend 30 for 30 on stars. I have only played two tournies (one 3.30 KO and a 2.20 mtt) I cashed in both and have to agree with infamous that it seems suuuuper soft. I also played some six max .02/.04 which is also really soft. Everyone likes to limp a lot and I mean ALOT. I haven't played any of the higher stakes but it definitely seems way more beatable than pokerstars or tilt. That good rakeback is a real plus as well . THe only real problem I have seen is that there is a minimum cashout for checks of 500 dollars. But you can also cash out with ewallet or one other option that I cant remember right now for less than 500. But again I am finding it really soft at the lower levels

^yeah, my rakeback deal is actually really good, depending on how much I play, i can get upgraded for even a higher %age. and yeah imho the play at 400NL is comparable to 200NL or 100NL on stars. Just seems really weak to me. |

I have bud who couldnt win on FT at any level he tried and has been doing very well at cake. I guess there is a lot more checking and weak playes compared to FT that is how he explains it. He says you can slowplay the bigger hands a little better at cake.

If anyone plays limit, .25/.50, .50/1, and 1/2 FL are all much softer on Cake than on Stars. I've heard that the cashing out is much easier on Stars or Tilt than it is on Cake so I'm probably going to stop playing on Cake once I finish my promo but if you have no issues with cashing out, Cake games may be the place to be.

YES! I just joined cake poker today.......I played in one tournament and am still in it right now. It is the 1000$ bankroll tournament freeroll. I believe around 450 entries, and this is my first tournament. I am at the final table right now, 9 players left, 7 players win entries. I am in 2nd, so i just have to check my way there to place. So far it seems like cake is a very easy place to win at.

If you can crush these people... do it. lol, might as well take advantage or their bad, or your good play, and keep taking their money. I cant remember who said it, but they said it best. "It's immoral to let a sucker keep his money." Oh yeah... and the 40% rakeback should easily be the kicker in the situation if you had any doubt on whetehr to keep palying at cake. I personally just dont like the set up and everything with it. But to his their own. Last edited by RightMeow : 17th April 2009 at 6:15 PM. Reason: Addition of words

I've thought about opening up and playing at a few other sites. I'm a 50NL player and I occasionally dabble in tournament play. Is cake offered for US players? Are there a maximum number of ring games you can play at one time? Do they have any good deposit bonuses?

re: Cake Poker is Easy I love Cake, its extremely easy, probably one of the easiest if not the easiest sites to play on, but you get a lot of retards calling with sh*t hands and winning. So i'd suggest seeing as many cards as possible upto the river preferable and once you have the nuts u can bet your ass they will call you.

I've never played for real money on Cake, but I have managed to build a decent bankroll freerolling. They used to have the best public freerolls of any poker room that I play on. Now the freerolls are average at best. Here is the downgrade.... Old Gold Chip Freeroll -- Entrants: 3,000 Prize: 400 gold chips New Gold Chip Freeroll -- Entrants: 4,000 Prize: 200 gold chips Old 250K Satellite Freeroll -- Entrants: 3,000 Prize: 27 tickets New 250K Satellite Freeroll -- Entrants: 4,000 Prize: 5 tickets Those old freerolls sure were generous while they lasted!

As an add on to my previous post, I'm not going to say cake is rigged in any way but I have seen some of the most ridiculous streaks of cards of any poker site I have ever played on. I have now seen two total fish in .50/1 FL and 1/2 FL take a 10BB stack and turn them into 100BB stacks within a session. Also, I have lost my last 4 premium hands consisting of AA, KK x2 and QQ, 3 of them to unsuited under cards combined with other random drawing out that has resulted in the biggest downswing of my two month long FL career all within my first 3 days of Cake. It's gotten so bad that I actually have to move down in limits for the first time in my life... This should go under BBV but since I just posted on the Cake site having a ton of fish a few days ago...

Yeah, I am definitely going to stay @cake for awhile, if not forever, while also playing on stars. Theres a bunch of big changes coming up and im going to be basically playing for a living, so the 40%+ rakeback is pretty important. As for the software-i believe its cakes biggest downfall, sometimes it tilts me so bad with tables disconnecting etc I haven't really noticed anything redic. in terms of cake being "rigged" or anything but we'll see

Also, I am pretty sure they don't allow you to use HUD which is pretty huge disadvantage (but I guess with some of the quality of play, at least from what I have seen, you might not even need it). I ask cause I want to know also, cause I have put in a couple hundred hands and its amazingly soft but I am not sure if I want to make it my main site if I can't cash out. |

cashing out process was pretty smooth, although I used "usemywallet". I asked them for other ways to cash out other then a check and they invited me to that. It took 24 hours for the money to go from cake-usemywallet. |

Yes, cake seems to be easier than Pokerstars for example! So, just stay their + and have fun making some money!

re: Cake Poker is Easy I'm a first time player on cake poker. At first it seems to me it's very easy and really have a difference on other online poker softwares. So it is. But I noticed in tourneys, SOME are very aggressive and there are a lots of players doing BLUFFS. hmmm. I still going to be loyal on cake. Hope it goes well. goodluck for me.

I enjoy the Cake Network..... I deposited some money on Sportsbook once (cake network) and lost it all (I think it was 10 bucks), had a ticket for a freeroll, made $8 in that tournament.... I then ended up going from $8.00 to a little under $300 in four days playing only .10/.20 NL.
