I do not trust cake poker in this manner. Its just good for million dollar freeroll series and nothing else for me. I think this gold card and gold chip stuff is a mess. Its totally unfair. I certainly prefer ultimate points absolute points etc. You know how much you win in each hand and you win at least one point if you just make a raked hand. So its not up to chance to win even free points in any other pokersite but cakepoker...

Don't play Cake for the gold cards, you're only wasting your time. They had a grea idea and it was ALOT of fun during Series One but starting with Series 2 and now with Series 3 they have ruined it. It is impossible to compete for normally every day Joes where you see a gold card per hour at .25/.50 NL when a GC shows every 3 hands on $10/$20

Im sure the guys who play 10/20 appreciate it....

If you played at that level wouldnt you want a much better chance of a card than if you played .25/.50

Yes, it is wonderful for the 1% of their player base who plays higher limits.

Yes, and this was the biggest long term mistake they could have made. They boosted the number of available cards from a few hundred thousand to what is it? 5 million? All this does is take all value away from them (I can see the Daily Lotto now... redeem 50 series three 4 of clubs for $1 lol). It doesn't change the fact that 95% of gold cards go to 1% of their player base (where a GC comes out every 2nd or 3rd hand).

I understand catering to the higher limit players, I really do. But gold cards are their "thing", it's what makes them different. Top prize in the weekly race is $500 which amounts to less than half of a max buyin on some of these tables. Im my opinion, if they base giving GCs out on number of cards dealt rather than rake taken in (giving every table the same opportunity) the amount of players on their site would skyrocket.

yea well personally i think the gold cards are stupid, i dont play big big money online, so it really doesnt help me that much, they should have like thier own money and players can spend it on tourneys or shirts or something

I got two gold cards in less than an hour today playing .10/.20 NL. One of my friends is very upset with me because he spent eight hours playing cash game tables one day and did not get one. The only reason I have been playing cash games is to unlock my reload bonus faster.

Now I only need 50 more different cards to collect the jackpot.

I just read that Cake has sped up the rate at which you can earn gold cards by 10x.
