BRAG HERE

I recently got in 507th out of 2985 in a pacificpoker freeroll
i just didnt have a big enough stack to compete with the other guys who were killin it there
...still better than the only other one ive entered - 300 sumthin out of 900 sumthin (can't remember)
i havent hit the money positions yet and probably wont for a while
after all ive only been playin for a bit more than two mnths
so i still suck
You all are far more experienced than me - do I still have a long way to go
or am i doin alright for a few mnths?
Just curious
Post your recent placings in tourneys here if you like and name the site too
also if you guys know of any sites which have regular freerolls which do NOT require rakes or player points
then comment on those too

Do you guys actually make enough solely from freerolls for it to be good money or
just enough for some playing cash?

Thread moved to "Playing Poker".

I don't play too many freerolls, but I do remember when I first started it did take a while to get used to them and to improve. Keep playing them regularly and experience will rise hopefully with your final positions

Hopefully if the cardschat freerolls are successful we will end up offering lots and lots of them across multiple poker sites on a really regular basis and them I'm sure you'll make some money (since to start there will be only a small number of players).

freerolls

i play freerolls most days and think they help to build discipline in your game.sites like royal vegas have about 10000 players in theirs and you know a quarter of them will go all in with any 2 cards so you learn the value of position.it also makes you selective in the amount of hands played and teaches patience.you also get to see some hysterical bad beats,2/7 off beating pocket As is the funniest i have seen!highest ive finished is 3rd on pokerroom in a 2220 player tourny and in the money around 40 times on various sites.good practice for the wsop?

Highest I've placed was around 8th in 1000 person tourney but I've placed in the top ten of 500 tourneys numerous times.

All i can say is that its hard to get money ,from freerolls you need alot of luck with the cards in the beginning so you can build up your stack so you can play more hands. If you get a bad start, then it will be hard to get anywhere..

i just placed sumthin like 21st out of 1500 on absolutepoker
i was playin 2 tourneys at one time and was doin alright in the second one, but made a bad calll all in
the one that i placed in was for a chance to enter a tourney where the prize
is a ticket to the WSOP but i wasnt even interested in that i just wanted experience from freerolls
best ive placed yet, but hope to hit money soon
absolutepoker is a pretty good place; every night they have multiple freerolls
no buy in or rake points needed
$50 and $200 freerolls

alicia, I like NoblePoker's 325-people FRs. The level of play usually isn't too bad, though I did see some guy called lockchamp going all-in 11 hands in a row just to steal the blinds.

Yeah, although Noble's freerolls don't pay much, there are at least three a day, and anyone is elgible for them. You won't find nearly as many bad players here as you will at the larger sites *cough* party poker & royal vegas *cough*. My only complaint is how often I get ace-ragged. When will people learn that Ax is not a great hand, and not call me all-in when I have Kings with it!!

I haven't been playing that long but I finished 12th out of 500 today in one of Noble Poker's $100 freeroll. I only won $1, but it's better than nothing.

Freeroll's are my favorite practise arena. Gone fast from almost being laughed out to ending in the two-digit players left in the tournaments with many participants. Still havent been near the money yet though, but think ive found my mistakes and working to correct them :-)

Poker at: Ultimatebet, Noble

I won a $5+$1 tourny @ UltimateBet a few months ago. 598 entered...1st paid over $1000. Place in the money about 35-40% of the time. Also play lots of sit&go's ...usually do well in those (but also have my share of losing streaks!!!!) Mostly play @ PartyPoker, Empire poker and UltimateBet. But am now starting to play @ Noble more & more.

I had got 3rd in a 5+1 nl holdem tourney. I had won a good bit over 500$. After that a few months later i had won first in a 50+5 buyin on party poker. That was the highlight of my poker play thus far. I had beaten out one of the top players heads up at the final table. His name was MUSTALLIN. This guy is crazy, but an excellent poker player. The out come was me with a k2 vs qq and i caught the k and the 2 on the flop. Finally after over 7 hrs he pushed all in,of course i called and that was that. 1st prize= 7425=]
