Bodog Beginner vs Double Up SNGS Interested to know which Sngs people think are the best for your money. For those not familiar with the beginner SNGs the pay top 5. Example 2.20 buy in pays 6-5-4-3-2. Both tourneys have rake of 10% of the buyins. There are beginner tables at 2.20 4.40 and 8.80. The only double up sngs are at 7.70. I prefer the beginner cause it plays more like a normal sngs. Iterested to here what you think. I

Been a while since I played at Bodog but I don't think you can open more than 4 tables. And with the limited buy ins for DoN I would stick to the beginner ones if building a bankroll.

This example assumes that you will make the top 5 every time no matter what game you play... If you buy into 10 DoN Sngs at 7.70 it will cost you $77 and the beginners will cost $88 bucks at a similar level. For the beginer games if you place in the money on all of the DoNs you will have $140 If you come in 5th for all of the beginner games you will have $80 bucks but if you were to come in 1st place on all of them there is a potential to win $240. Let's say you come in 1st and 3rd five times each you would have $200. If you have enough confidence that you could come in 1st and 3rd fives times each than you are in better shape. There must be someone that can do the math better than I am but unless you are in top three all the time I am thinking the DoNs are better. Also keep in mind that coming in 5th on the beginer games is not a win it is breaking even minus the rake. Last edited by kmixer : 17th January 2010 at 9:44 PM.

re: Bodog Beginner vs Double Up SNGS poker Beginner games have more potential given your ability at winning SnG's whereas the DoN's are more consistent with your winning possibility. So it would all depend on how good of a SnG player you are. Like Kmixer said, if you think you can come in 1-3rd a good portion of the time, then just go for the Beginner games. If you think there is a chance that you might only make it to 5th a bunch, then you should probably go with the DoN's because you'll be losing money in the rake with the Beginners.

re: Bodog Beginner vs Double Up SNGS poker The beginner SnG's on Bodog you can fold every hand until you have AA KK make a decent sized win and sit out the rest of the SnG, I've made it to 3rd-4th place a few times and didn't even play a single hand. The skill level in the lower buy in SnG's are generally horrible, and boring to play 100% ABC poker, no bluffing, not much mental fold equity, etc.
