| Bluffing Online? What and when are some of the best times for yourself to pull off a bluff online, it seems like most of these players will call anything. Maybe its because im playing low stakes tables. So they really dont care about if they lose 1 dollar. |

| I find you have to have a solid read on your table. Once you have that, you can execute a bluff more effectively. Of course, you also want to make sure that the time is right, and not just go shoving bluffs out there willy-nilly. Position matters, the texture of the board, etc., along with your reads are all part of a successful bluff attempt. But I'm just guessing here. ^^ I certainly never bluff. | This isnt something you can just answer. There are way to many factors such as....SNG? Ring? Mtt? Stack Sizes? Position? Number of players? How late(if tourney), past reads? Table image? A good start might be reading a book, i along with many other people enjoyed HOH1, there is a review about it here. |

| re: Bluffing Online? poker I never bluff. Sometimes I just play 85o like I've already hit my set or ...........flush draw or............straight. This is why you can play lesser hands from the button. If the table checks to you then you can represent better hands than if you have to open a pot with two or three villains left to act. I actually make a little bit of money from the small blind as well. I like to call bets from looser villains in the small blind. If the texture of the board is something like K82, I'll generally throw out a 2/3 size bet and try to steal. This is just slightly better than break even for me and I wouldn't recommend the strategy if you can't let go of the hand when faced with aggression. However, all of this is table and villain read dependant. You must also make sure that you don't do this so much that villain can get a read on you. |

If you are going to bluff try and make it a semi-bluff (i.e a bluff with outs if you get called). |

| NEVER lol....Bluffing online is hard and in my opinion rarley works. I have bluffed a few times and gotten away with it, other times I have tried to steal the pot and gotten ran over! Yesterday for example (this is not a bluff on my part just a really good play on the other guys part). I had K 10, flop came A A 6, everybody checks, next card is a K, everybody checks to me, I bet, one guy calls, river card comes something like a 5, I figure he has two pair, maybe??? Maybe trying to hit something so I bet he waits and calls with Trip Aces.....He slow played the crap out of them, I have had others raise me with nothing or go all in with nothing....Online poker is strange and can be very dangerous I think. I have started playing super tight, even when I know I have the goods just to be safe. Obviously if I know I have the highest flush, or think I have the best full house then I will be loose. However when I have a pair, or two pair, I play tight because it seems when I have two pair, somebody has two higher pair. |

| re: Bluffing Online? poker Possible? I'd say when the blinds are huge and your on the bubble move all-in with any ace, any king, any suited cards, any pocket pair. You got to be getting chips on the bubble preparing yourself for when it's down to 3 players then 2. Anyway, don't recommend bluffing in MTT's unless it's later on, you have a good read on your opponent and got position. SnG's and cash games I will try and get chips whether it's bluffing or not. In cash games, I won't necessarily need position either because people will think I got a big hand. If I get pushed over-the-top then it's a simple laydown. In SnG's, I'm normally very tight-aggressive and pouncing (raising/re-raising) on any kind of weakness I sense. In the $225 (high buy-in) Sit and Go's this can be a toughie but it's easily possible and even in smaller buy-in ones ($3.40). |

| Well I am not going to write out when and where to bluff, you should read a book for that. I am very surprised at the responses saying not to bluff or you can't bluff early in tourneys etc. If you do not bluff or bluff too little that is a huge leak in your game. I'm not saying you should constantly come over the top of someone elses raise who you think has a good hand to try and represent a bigger hand. Your opponent does need to have some skill to be able to lay down. However there are lots of places you can bluff or semi-bluff an opponent off a weak or fair hand when you have squat. If I have notes on someone that they are too tight and are unlikely to check raise I will bluff them almost every chance I get. Almost everyone time because if you do it all the time they will catch on and fight back. I mean a c/b is a bluff is it not? We all do that. |

| I've bluffed huge pots, it works and works well. I raised it 4x big blind, few nice cards were on the table and I just continued making 4x big blind bets until everyone folded, people don't wanna lose that many chips when they don't think they have the best hand so they fold....I raked in a $15 pot on $.25 / .50 just by bluffing, you just have to time it good. Of course that is a very brief explanation, but either way I've bluffed online and off and both have worked and have lost me money. Just matters if you get caught or not. | re: Bluffing Online? poker I bluff (i play cash games) if i have a read on a person i will make an attempt to bluff. I cannot give an exact formulae for bluffing i just try to piece the 'story' together and work with that. Sometimes the board pairs up a draw comes up and if my opponent seems weak and i feel i cannot win a hand by checking it down i will attempt to steal. I will never make overly aggressive bets to steal more probing bets. |
