A couple days ago I got down to 100 chips with 5 people left in a turbo tourney. Blinds were 100/200 25 ante. I was in the blind next hand with 7 4 off. Quadrupled up with trip 4s that I caught on the river. Next hand I go all in with 89s and double up against AQ. So now Im at around 1100 chips and I am ok, but not great. Next hand, Pocket Aces and I go all in again, praying someone will think that I am just doing it every hand and call me. Well I get 2 callers and triple up and end up winning the tournament. I was amazed at how lucky I got.

I've been down to as little as 19 chips and come back to take 1st in a SNG. I've also come back from less than 100 chips on several occassions. Most of these were playing at Paradise....sigh...God I miss that site...

My best one was playing live at my local casino here in australia, in a $300 buy in tourney. I took a huge hit when my AA against KK lost, when he hit his trips on the turn. I was down to a single 100 dollar chip. We were about halfway in, the blinds were 400/600. So you can see i had one fourth of the small blind! I was ready to go home. 22 on the next hand, all in, hit trips, and with 6 callers, it wasnt bad. Anyways, the same sort of thing kept happening, and by the time we were down to two tables i was the second largest stack! I ended up taking 2nd in that tourney, netting me a nice comfy $16000. I have never had a comeback like that, nor will i ever again, i really doubt. It was good for my BR too!

That`s interesting, JQ. I have heard at least one of the other American members say how much they miss Paradise.

Why Paradise especially ? I have an account there still (being in the UK) containing a few dollars they gave me as a sweetener, but I`ve never bothered to deposit and play there properly, because I didn`t see anything very special about it.

To answer the main question, I have had two large tournies where I final-tabled after having been busted down to almost no chips early on. Those were my happiest achievements.

Mine was just last week at DesertLady's birthday celebration tournament. I over-played A9 against the full house folder (Brutus ) on the second hand of the tournament and gave away all but $20 with the blinds at 10/20 and my big blind coming up. I stuck it out to the nearly the end though. At one point, when finally down to four players, I was the chip leader by 1.75 times the 2nd place stack. Wound up in third overall when every short stack push kept resulting in a win for a while and no one would go away. It was definitely my best chip and a chair comeback.

I've had several I could post about, but right now I'm in a 2.00 triple shootout. In the first level I got busted down to 90 chips, 3 players left. One guy with 6k, the other with 1200.

Somehow I managed to come back and win the first level knocking both of them out.

Waiting now for the 2nd level ...

Paradise has fantastic graphics. Their sng's are great and you see a lot of the same people over and over. It was a great place to make friends and easy to find them to play with. You could even see who was sitting at which table in the room lobbies of sng's.

I have never found another site to compare. The Canadians and UK players I used to play with still play there - even though the player numbers are so low.

Very sad.

Maybe a comeback in progress.

My normal operating procedure is to deposit 50 on my accounts and play 1 to 5 dollar MTT's usually making the cash and slowly build bankroll. Of all my accounts PokerStars, FT, Absolute Poker and Ultimatebet the PokerStars account is the most volatile because on Sunday mornings I absolutely love playing the 2.00 triple shootouts.

After a bad run last night in a couple of 5 dollar tourneys I got into a 15 and busted out as well. I had 24 bucks on account this morning which if it wasn't Sunday I would just 1 and 2 dollar MTT to build it back up.

I played a couple of 4.00 SnG's this morning and a bunch of 2.00 shoot outs and lost them all until I had 1.38 left on my account. Went into a 1/2 cent NL and won 2.42 then quit and got into the last 2.00 triple shootout of the morning.

I WON, I WON, I WON!

So now I've got 22 cents in my PokerStars account and the big game starts in 2 hours. LOL Yeah I'm playing! if I don't make the cash, I'll just make another deposit ... I feel good though ... maybe ... just maybe today is my day. We'll see. hehhehhhehhhehhheh w00T!

Made it to first break I'm 1289th out of 5070.

Man this is one of the tightest Sunday's I've ever played, I have A/Q and call a 900 chip raise in middle position and the button makes it 3500 ... what do I do?

FOLD

It was the right move, I need to be the aggressor ... most interesting. Hopefully there will be more updates ... we'll see.

Sigh ....

I had doubled through and got as high as 500th in placement and I overplayed A/K and got busted by 6/6 of all hands.

That little pair of 6's knocked the wind out of my sails for sure, goatmaster was one of the loosest players at the table, I didn't figure him for 10's or a high pair, I saw him lose one or two with A/4 and A/6 and figured I was probably going to be ok. My re-raise was to find out where I'm at ... what I learned from this is I'm still too loose in calling anyway once I get that information. 4900 in chips is still a good amount at this stage ... I probably should have folded. Still an A or K on the turn or river and I wouldn't be posting this hand history.

I still had a pretty good stack and this happened ... shortstack blues or this guy is a fish .... he got lucky.

Definately a loose call but if he lost he would still have around 10k, he probably read me as a donk on a desperate play. I had just been moved to a new table. Can't say he's a fish, I was making a desperation play but NOT without a hand. I want but don't want that call.... was glad to see he didn't hit but was sick when the turn came a jack.

If that jack didn't hit I would've been on average ground, it was just not meant to be today. A case of shortstack blues. I did well .... we all wish we could do better.

Maybe next time.

i've made quite a few comebacks - my most recent was being down to 140 from 2000 from the 2nd hand.
Blinds were still low so i had room to manuevure. I ended up winning. You need some fortune with cards because when you do go all in your not gonna scare many people off when low stacked.

Sorry to hijack this thread with hand history's and such, probably could have moved over to what game your currently in.... still a comeback in progress would've been cool.

Yeah Joose 500 was well within the money, with over 6000 players it paid down 900 places, if ya busted out in 900th you would get 250.00 or so. There's 2 ways to look at it, I played too loose myself for where and when I got that aggressive (I didn't need to). And there is allways the point of you got to play to win and poker is one of those games where stuff happens, if I would've won those hands I'd be a hero instead of out of the game. It's funny I KNOW one of these days I'm going to win a huge tourney, what I don't know is when.

Now back to huge comebacks.

Allthough I've done it in poker many times I can't remember any specific ones, I can testify that the saying "a chip and a chair" has real meaning. I've done it both live and online. Never give up, allways look for an edge to make a comeback.

There used to be in San Diego what they called "turn around buses" for 5 bucks you get on a bus to Las Vegas, you spend 5 hours in the sponsoring casino and then you get 5 hours free time, then get back on the bus and "turn around" and come back to San Diego.

On one of these trips I lost all but my last 5 dollars in the first 5 hours. I had 5 hours left and didn't like the prospect of having to hang around Las Vegas for 5 hours with no money. So I went walking through downtown looking for a movie theater figuring hey theres 2 hours I can actually not be bored.

On the way down the street I said "Screw it" walked into the Pioneer Casino and placed my last 5 dollars on a blackjack table and proceeded to win 100.00, once I won that I walked accross the street and played at the Golden Nugget and won another 100.00, I went from casino to casino taking 100 dollar from each one until the bus left. I was 300 dollars ahead by the end of the day. That was a nice comeback.

Another time I was breaking even pretty much for the whole trip, 10 minutes to go before the bus left and I stepped up to a craps table. I never played craps before and hadn't a clue how to play. I put 5 bucks on the pass line and won, took the winnings and covered the hard ways. Someone tapped me on the shoulder and said the bus is leaving let's go. I grabbed my stack of red chips and went to the cashier and cashed out 500.00 dollars. Ending that day 500.00 bucks ahead LOL

Leaving Las Vegas by airplane once, pretty much down about 200 bucks. I was playing quarter slots in the waiting area. The airline announcer said over the speaker system that my plane was now loading passengers. Exactly at the same time my slot machine lined up 7/7/7. No time for a cashier, I loaded up my pockets with 300.00 dollars of quarters, trying to hold my luggage and my pants up at the same time, going jingle changle jingle with every step, everyone laughing at my situation. Was hilarious

Ahh good times, good times

Happened this past Sunday, actually...

I entered a 50 person, multitable SNG, and after playing badly for a few rounds, suddenly found myself with less than the sb. (Thank heavens for the All-in button! )

I won three all-ins in a row, totally expecting an early exit each time I tried, but luck was with me and after a bit more careful play, I was back on an average stack, albeit shaken!

An hour or two later, I won the tourney and the U$75, which felt like a U$mil to this very relieved newbie!
