BetonBet and Eurolinx bankrupt
Im trying to play at eurolinx today, and got this message
21.August 2009 MALTA – The Linx Media Group has today announced that it is seeking to put its businesses into liquidation and will cease trading with immediate effect. Betonbet was bought from the founders early 2009 by the Linx Media Group so they will also close their doors. Uncertain is at this moment if/when/how the Linx Media Group is going to pay out the money on the player accounts. Both rooms were a part of the microgaming network. There were rumors that some microgaming rooms had some financial problems, but not many people could have guessed it would be BetonBet. A company spokesperson from the Linx Media Group stated: “It is with great regret that we make this announcement. I appreciate the concern and frustration that this will inflict on the Eurolinx, BetOnBet, and Linx Casino player community. Affected account holders are those individuals who have agreed to a contractual relationship with the Linx Media Group through Eurolinx, BetOnBet and Linx Casino. All available player funds are held by these businesses. As soon as we have information on how to lodge claims with the liquidators, we will communicate this via the websites.” who´s next ? mac° |

All the microgaming sites are pretty awful- since they got rid of the freerolls (with required 1 hand/ extra chips for multiple raked hands) there has been very little reason to play there, software is pretty poor and not enough volume despite hundreds of skins so doesnt surprise me a few have gone bust...
Stick to the big sites- Pokerstars, Fulltilt, Titan and Partypoker. Otherwise ensure sites have a larger profitable parent company (arguably safer)- eg Ladbrokes, William Hill, Paddypower, Bwin and maybe Bodog? If pokerroom can go under (think it was originally one of the biggest sites), then no-one apart from above are safe (though think pokerroom customers didnt lose cash) |
