Hello i am a member of Full Tilt and i am looking to play pokerstars.. In everyone heres opinion is Poker Stars a better MTT and SNG site than Full Tilt or do you all think that Full Tilt has more to offer? I normally play around 1-5 dollar tournaments... i know thats not much money, but all i can afford, So just get back to me on what you all think! thanks a lot....
Oh By the way i am an American so i need a positive American site that will accept new US players... and any other sites that are good would be much appreciated so i could look into those as well! Thanks Guys and Gals! Last edited by dakota-xx : 19th June 2009 at 9:38 PM. |

Pokerstars over Full Tilt anyday hands down for tournaments. They have a lot more to offer and their tournament lobby is easy peasy.

I'd take PS MOST of the time. The MTTs are alot bigger from what I've seen at PS so there alot more meatheads to wade through. But, that also means bigger prize pools. From my short time at FT, the MTT players are light years better at PS.(by that I mean once you get through the 1st hr., I've found the play much less erratic) I also think the SnGs are WWAAYY
easier to beat on FT. IMO, the donk factor at FT is off the charts for the number of players compared to PS. I have this opinion strictly based on what I saw as an absurd number of suckouts(2, 3 ,4 outers after the turn with money all in) and of course me being on the wrong end of those. For the most part, I'd take PS over FT |

re: Best Site for Tournament Play poker
I can only give an answer based on my own experience.
The play in the super micro buyin MTT's on Stars is really bad.... but it's pretty bad on Fulltilt too. When I first started playing online I played on both sites about equally... I preferred Fulltilt at the time as the play seemed better (don't you want to play with bad players?.. sure..but not the entire table). SNG play - $2 & under.... skill level of play on Fulltilt far exceeds Pokerstars (or at least it used to... 'guessing' it still does). I don't have much experience playing on even moderately higher buyin MTTs on Stars so I can't really comment - - ones I played seemed not too bad. At higher limits I've heard that they're pretty much the same (it's alot of the same players). I prefer Fulltilt because of how some of the satellites are set up (ie. 1 in 4, 1 in 5 getting ticket) and used to like the $26 tourneys but then after not playing any for 6mos. and trying them recently I have found them not much better than a $1 buyin (bummer). It also depends upon what your own personal preference is? Huge field tourneys? .. play on Stars. Personally I prefer Fulltilt still... but this thread has got me thinking about using my stagnant Stars account (I have money in there and just about NEVER play on there ever... aside from the odd CC Sunday game). |

I played in many rooms, most of all like to play tournaments at Full Tilt and PokerStars, least of all at PartyPoker, because the blind structure is bad.

I got a big bankroll on both sites.I very seldom play MTT but have been increasing playing them in the last few weeks .I see no difference in each site.I love FT tourneys. So soft and easy.Pokerstars has bigger fields but is also soft.Stars support is the best ,but FT VIP programs thumps PS by a furlong. If you want to play tourneys I would say FT because the fields are smaller and soft.If you perfer Stars no biggie .

Yeah, like pretty much everyone else, I'd go with Pokerstars if I were you. I've been playing on there for awhile now and don't really have any complaints. I wish I could find more destination poker tournaments to play in. I'd love to go to some tropical place like the Bahamas and win lots of money while hangin out at the beach. Anyone know of any tournaments coming up like that?

Just to be different from most I'll say... no wait a minute, I absolutely agree with most of the posters here: Pokerstars definitely is the best place for tourney play on the net. And I won't play anything but tourney play as I'm just too concerned about collusion on the cash tables, as it's just too easy. Also pokerstars have quite a strict policy on catching cheats that have thrown up some well publicised miscreants - which also definitely makes me feel more comfortable playing there. Also FT's CS definitely could be a lot better. No idea why they don't particularly respond quickly nor with much focus on any questions asked. But that's the way it is and it seems to be take it or leave it. So that is indeed exactly just what I did - and put over 90% of it into stars! Hmmm, really put off FT of late (and I won't mention all the bad beats)
Also, pokerstars have the further option of "put the cup of tea on" true deep stack tourneys, with skill testing 30 minute blinds - now that's something that a true tourney lover can't help but be tempted by! |

I like SNGs on Absolute Poker. This site (and Ultimatebet) has the best structure of all the sites I play on. I like to have more time to play. However, the SNGs on FT and PS fill up much faster.
