Bad Dealers Have you ever played in a tournament or cash game where the players take turns dealing the cards when they are the dealer? Some players I've encountered are slow dealing the cards. Some shuffle the cards so forcefully they bend some of the cards. If you have ever encountered this, how do you deal with them?

In a tourney two weeks ago, the levels were 20 mins, and one guy bummed the deal 4 times on the first hand, pissed as a fart. In the end one of the older players at the table took over "dealing" duties for the table. I for one didnt mind, but there was one guy who insisted that everytime he had the button that he dealt, fair enough i suppose.

Oh years ago we used to deal our own games in California. That's when we could only play draw and few casinos supplied dealers. Anyway you'd get all levels of people dealing but most people did all right. A few idiots and drunks though and I tell you that always pissed everyone off. With a 30 minute collection you NEVER slowed down the game; none of this nonsense about talking it over or taking your time to call, we wanted to see the most hands we could for our money.

re: Bad Dealers poker We play once a month at our house. One of the guys has bent a card more than once and he was slow. We all picked on him quite a bit about this (for fun) and he is much better. If I get knocked out I always deal the rest of the game. It makes it go way faster. Never heard of someone getting to deal when they had the button. That seems wierd.

Well I am a dealer and so are most of my friends. So our poker games are usually pretty good but every now and then we get someone who isnt a dealer and is really slow... well compared to how we can spit out cards. In this instance we usually take the time out to have a nice slow relaxing hand and wait for the mistake you know is gonna happen. But we all take it in our stride. Most the time if someone new is really bad I will actually spend 15 minutes teaching them how to deal.. makes a big difference every time.
