| Atlantic City So my friend is turning 21 soon and I will be soon after that. Just wondering if anyone has some first hand experience at the various casinos there and what their favorite is. Hotel rates don't bother me because I have a summer home about half hour from AC itself. |

| There was recently another thread on AC... I don't know if it got a response, but try there first. Edit: I didn't see that one but use "search" in this section, you'll find some threads, one was a story of someones first trip there. Might be helpful. | Just went there yesterday.... Quote:
BTW, the Borgata is the biggest & supposedly the best action in AC, but we never been there, as it's not on the boardwalk, at least a mile back. |

| re: Atlantic City poker Sounds like fun. I'm going down a lot myself as well since my friends and I are renting a house in Sea Isle for the Summer. About 20 minutes. Got a house game goin on the weekends 25nl style and all if you're nearby and interested PM me. Anyway, the action in A.C. 1/2 games can seem very out of control and with 5x the big blind raise from UTG don't be suprised if you get called by 70% of the table in some rooms. I have done pretty well at the Tropicana myself, nice tables and an okay room. I was only there once and can't remember the end of the night. All I know is when my friend looked in my wallet I was $300 up. Taj has money flying everywhere when I was there last, seriously it seems like a lot of the people have no idea/don't give a shit what they bet on or how they get their money in. Only problem is that place is kinda ghetto and the chips look like they got dipped in poop. Showboat has nice roomy tables although it seems like the action has never been good there whenever I go. The new room looks out onto the ocean though which is pretty cool. Caesars isn't exactly a hot spot, but the fish you will find there are pretty good. The room is right in the middle part of the casino so I think it attracts more casual players/gamblers. You wont believe what you get called down with there. Seriously one guy called down my trip nines with K6 offsuit, K high. Needless to say he was dissappointed when he didn't win. (WTF?) The Borgata has a huge room and has some of the best service in A.C. A lot younger crowd. Much more aggressive tables and a bunch of kids that think they're amazing/are actually decent. The raises and bets you see here can easily be intimidating, especially if you bought in a short stack. Usually can find some fun people though and have a good time. Mostly you can find a good game at any of these places and try them all, then decide which one you are most comfortable with. Just play a patient TAG game and pay attention to your opponents. If you are trying to win don't drink, leave that to the fish. Otherwise have a good time. |

Check this site out, they have a lot of locations, none are more than $30 and I think if you book within 7 days you get about a $20 casino bonus to wherever you book it too. Seems like a pretty sweet deal, I'm sure there are more. Dont know if you are close enough to any of those stops. The casinos don't "run" the busses, but they give you about 50-80% back in the bonuses. |

http://www.davidthomastours.com/documents/linerun.pdf In June, free buffet on Mondays & June 20th, but you gotta go to guest services & get a card, took 5 minutes. Also there's another bus leaves an hour later (and somedays at 10 AM from the KSL place in that PDF above at Welsh & Blvd) - that bus goes to Showboat & somewhere else. Call them (KSL). But David Thomas got real nice buses. Greyhound of course, leaving from Center City 11th & Filbert... Greyhound.com : Products & Services : Lucky Streak Casino Service : New Jersey It's $19, and yes, they do give you $$ back, usually $20, Claridge gives $22 There another outfit or 2 leaving from Klein's Supermarket 2401 Pennsylvania Ave # 1d10 (215) 232-1120 It's actually on Fairmount betw 24th & 25th - but I don't know anything about that, call Klein's. P.S. No, they're not RUN by the casinos, they are private bus companies. But they have agreements with each hotel. For instance David Thomas is strictly Trop. Probably the bus company gets your initial busfare, while the casino shells out the full $20 just for you to walk in their door. Last edited by Divebitch : 12th June 2008 at 4:04 PM.
