Anybody a paid member on Spade Club or Club Bluff?

Just curious, does anybody here play and a paying member on either Spade Club or Club Bluff? There is also another called FleetStreeGames.com. If anybody plays on these sites, what are they like? I'm thinking about getting a paid membership to one of the sites, just not sure which one.

Full Tilt PokerFull Tilt Poker is the poker site the pro's play at. US players are welcome - use code CARDSCHAT to get a $600 bonus.

Buck....They are "Membership" sites. Spade Club is operated by CardPlayer Magazine, while Club Bluff is operated by Bluff Magazine. I'm not sure who owns FleetStreet. You basically pay a membership fee (19.99/month) to play for cash prizes. That all I know...I wish I knew more.

I recive Bluff Mag. The last issue explained most of it. Reading between the lines I don't think it is as good a deal as they are saying. Some states will not allow you to join. Mi & In are two of them. So I can't join if I wanted to. Go to Bluff Magazine .com it's all on there.

re: Anybody a paid member on Spade Club or Club Bluff?

I just joined Spade Club and UBT (which gives you membership to Las Vegas Advisor, and another copy of their Pocketbook of Values coupon book, so that will pay for it in and of itself)-- I figure I'll use them when I want to play when drinking, or otherwise experiment (play blind, etc.), without risking real money. If you get them yearly it works out to less than $20/month, which I figure is probally all I would want to pay for something like this.

I forgot about Club UBT. It looks like I will be joining this one for the fact that Spade Club will not allow Ohio Players.....

I joined clubbluff.com 3 days ago. It seems fun if you're into sit n go's. Haven't cashed yet so I'll report on that when it happens. Two things that hooked me.

Two week free trial
Elimination Blackjack (pretty fun)

The poker table graphics aren't that great but the elimination blackjack table is pretty snazzy.

This is an email I recived from UBT Club.

Dear Duane,

Thank you for contacting us.

There are several states which do not allow participation as a paid member due to their local laws. Those are Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, South Carolina, South Dakota, Washington.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any additional questions.

Sincerely,

Marisa

I'm a member of Club Bluff. Not too many strong players and there's regular freerolls and tourneys you can enter. I actually placed in one...asked for money..and have a $5 check. Came in about a week and a half.

I'm a member of Spadeclub since its inception during beta December 2007. Its a great site to play on. I hope you use JoeShowdown as a referral!

They have $500 tourneys daily and sundays they offer a 5000 tourney with 1stplace getting 1500. One Sunday a month they have a 40k tourney with 1st place getting 10k! Its worth it just to pay 19.99 and do the sunday tourneys. They gave away 3 wsop seats and now are giving away seats to a 25k buyin at the Bellagio next year.

While SC gives out 100k per month in prizes, FleetStreetGames does 150k. Their sunday tourneys are 10k and once a month they have a 50k tourney. Again, use JoeShowdown as your referall please. Thx.

re: Anybody a paid member on Spade Club or Club Bluff?

I'm glad I saw this. Have been thinking about joining...now I guess i'll go check out the interface of the diff. sites and choose.

I've seen the full page ads(?) in Cardplayer mag. and I just didn't know how serious the poker could be for $19.95 a month. Doesn't look like a bad deal to someone like me. I don't play for money online anymore, so it seems like a neat idea.

Do you enter these trnys as a single player? Or do you pick your partner and enter as a team? I'm the best spades player I ever met, and picking your own partner would be a big plus!

Club Bluff

Well I've cashed about 4 times since my last post. I got a $5 check and a $25 check I'm depositing today. No problems so far. Competition isn't too hard but it's all basically a freeroll at the beginning and doesn't get too serious until the 100/200 blinds start. I'd recommend it.

Spade Club

Signed up for $1. Then promptly cancelled my $19.99/Mo. subscription. No purchase neccessary to play or win. Read the fine print. And only available in certain states (there is a list of 10 states or so, that don't allow any winnings).

Only multitable tourneys available to win cash. They play like freerolls (where there are alot of donkeys and alot of shoving).

I played patiently and solidly and cashed in a weekly tourney in 4th for $200. Still waiting for a check. It's in the mail (I hope).

Not a bad site to play if one has $0.00 bank roll. And infinity patience.

Sorry for the extremely late response sheepodog, but spadeclub is a poker site. I'm still a member and have been since the very beginning. I've won numerous free membership tourneys and have only had to pay for 1 month. Right now I'm set thru feb 09 via the freemem tournaments. I've won about 1,000 bucks on spadeclub in 2008.

Fleetstreetgames was similar to spadeclub, but it didn't have proper financial backing and closed down. It lasted from august to halloween. FSG's Dan Goldman still hasn't paid the final checks from people like me who kept winning up to Halloween. They said 6 weeks, but it has been 2 months now. I won about 700 bucks.

Zosoz was another site that was too good to be true. I won 2,000 bucks in 2 months there. I joined at the end of October when somebody at a fleetstreet table mentioned this wonderful new zosoz site. Zosoz went bankrupt and ended tourneys december 14th. This site had a 100k tournament the last sunday of november and then started bouncing checks because the investors backed out. All of us complained and thru another forum got organized and were able to get the bounced checks money returned us via cashier's check before Christmas.

To wrap up Spadeclub is here to stay because CardPlayer is backing them. I won more money at fsg and zosoz in a shorter amount of time, but I recommend you join SpadeClub and use JoeShowdown as a referral.
