Any tables where they ban "sitting out"? I am really tired of trying to play on 9/10-handed tables and a third to half the table sits out for eternity - if I want to play six-handed I'll sit at a 6-max table! One of the biggest problems with online poker compared to B&M IMHO. Do any online rooms have rules (or maybe just special tables) that automatically kick off anyone who sits out? I would find that awesome and I think others would too. Rupert

I find in MTTs when there are a bunch of players sitting out that is the time to take their chips as fast as you can and build your own stack. As far as poker rooms that remove people who sit out, I think Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker do.

In an MTT, why would you want to ban the sitter outters? That's free money for all the active players at the table to get. In a ring game, they get booted after a while. However, I have seen data miners at Party Poker play 1 hand every 2-3 orbits so as not to get the boot, and continue gathering info on other players. At least that is what looks like is happening to me. I suppose there could be another explanation.

Yeah, you should be kicked off after missing three orbits. UB and FT do this, but some sites, like the Everleaf Network, allow people to sit out for a very long time. It's frustrating when you are trying to get on a table and see sitters just taking up space. It's common courtesy to give up your seat right away if you are done playing. Some players will bust out and sit there for 15 minutes with no money and no intention of playing anymore. Just rude!

re: Any tables where they ban "sitting out"? poker I only play at Bodog. They give you only 1 or 2 orbits if the table is full. If there are open seats you seem to be able to sit out for quite a while, never counted the orbits but its a lot. Eventually tho, you do get booted for sitting out even with open seats.

re: Any tables where they ban "sitting out"? poker I remember playing a MTT (on pokerstars i think) where there were only two of us actually playing so it was like a heads up game. I forget I have to adjust my ranges when there are 4 or 5 sitting out as well. From memory I've played a few games on Everest where they remove people sitting out (not responding) after a while. I've also seen someone sitting out in a SNG on Cake who cashed for 3rd!!!
