Americas Cup Promotion
You guys that play at PokerStars probably saw the promo they have going on for the free $50 if you give somone a dollar and they play in the .20¢ Americas Cup of Poker tourney and make it to the final table.
I was thinking that if anyone else is playing there and at those stakes and wants to trade dollars to maybe make it to the final table or I may and one of us can get the $50. Im not sure how it works with more than one person giving you money. We may need to get a few people and pass the dollar to the left. I just emailed PokerStars to get the scoop, and havent received the reply yet so... Let me know what you guys think about this. Will it even work? Anyone already doing it? |

re: Americas Cup Promotion poker
yeah well thats the problem. Personally, Id give a dollar to someone who convinced me of that as well.
But Im so new to this site and other than having someone that I play live with register so can send them a buck..... Im over it. |

One idea would be to have the two players involed in the subject at hand to simply trade a buck for a buck. For example: send someone a buck on PokerStars for this purpose and have them send you a buck on a different poker site. Or just pass the buck to someone in the realization that the final table with a 15k field tourney is highly unlikely and consider it a gamble lol. Thats what poker is about anyways, right? Anyways gl to all that decide to participate.

Well thats something that would work. Passing the $ back at another site. I dont think that the field is anywhere near 15k but it is very large none the less.
It was a quick thought I had when I originally posted it. After looking into it a little further its not worth the difficulty. Unless your intention is just to look out for someone and throw them a buck. |

re: Americas Cup Promotion poker
The rules were the recipient had to have less than .20 in their account, so basically you are staking playmoney players. I think its a horrible idea because its just asking for people to go around begging offering a chance at $50 even though you would have no way of knowing if they were eligible or going to play.
...btw, asking for funds transfers is not allowed in our forums. Since the OP was also asking how this works (and presumably isn't eligible anyway) I'll leave this open, but any solicitations for this promotion (or money requests in general) will be closed. |
