| calling the allin with A J off suit well, i try to avoid all in preflops unless i am really strong...AA, KK, AK or AQ. pocket queens are acceptable too, if you know you can survive the hit if you lose. at best, the call you made was 50/50...and at worst he had solid pocket cards. I often make preflop bets...but if someone goes over the top, i am not married to it if i dont think my hand is that strong. best bet...just fold, you havent lost anything, and wait for a better spot. also, your position was very vulnerable..good luck in the future Fred |

| I realise that A-J is considered a Marginal hand and having 3 players in the action is even worse for odds...Not suggesting that You Play them Like that again, But this happened to me with a reverse outcome than yours..and in the late stages of the event and I was getting Short-stacked. http://www.cardschat.com/f31/officia...80/index4.html (scroll to mid way down) My mistake was Re-Raising rather than calling his initial raise (8K). My hope was to get him to fold to my 32K Re-Raise. To no avail. K-K seems to draw Aces for some reason. |
