Absolute Poker Room

Well, this is one of my last options for rakeback in the US. Doesn't appear to have anywhere near the traffic that FullTilt or PokerStars does...oh yeah and there's that whole scandal thing.

But seriously, does anyone play here that could comment on gameplay, table selection, or interface?

I play there partly because I get rakeback (was in the same situation as you -- couldn't get it other places). I like the interface, there are lots of bad players there, and I've generally been very happy with it. Made a withdrawal a couple of months ago and it arrived quickly, within about a week if I recall correctly. You probably already know that the player pool is shared with Ultimate Bet via the Cereus network.

At off hours there may not always be a game going for non-NLHE games at all levels, but that's not a big deal. I've also had some unusual blank space showing up where some of their banners/promos should be, but it may just be my computer.

The bad beat jackpot is appealing, and the BBJ tables attract all sorts of players when the jackpot is high.

Quite worth it for the rakeback IMO.

absolute...

I play on absolute and when you put together their rakeback offerings plus the reload bonuses (up to 80%) it can be a profitable site. I actually just quadrupled my bankroll there very recently. The only thing you have to suck up is the $8 for a check payout.

So I have heard about the BBJ rake not being included in rakeback and the fact that they have made retroactive changes to take away/limit promotions in the past... have you guys not heard or had any experiences with that?

Absolute in my opinion has some of the crummiest software I've seen...at least visually. It's always been laggy for me as well, and my friends that play there, who I consider to be great poker players, lose consistently and say the field is pretty tough...just my 2 cents.

BBJ rake goes to the jackpot, so no, it's not included in rakeback. If you use Holdem Manager it doesn't distinguish between the two, so your rakeback stats there will be off.

Not sure about limiting promotions, but it does look like points to cash is no longer available for Gold members, just Platinum VIP and above. I think it changed this month.

Tough field? Don't know what games/limits your friends are playing, soncheebs, but at the lower limits ($50 and lower) for NLHE there tend to be lots of bad, loose players. Some decent regs as well of course.

I may be wrong about that, as it's still listed on their site as being available to Gold members: http://www.absolutepoker.com/fame-lo...gram/benefits/

Maybe it just didn't make the "short list" I saw earlier.

re: Absolute Poker Room

I played Absolute Poker for years, recently cashed out cos... traffic is better at Ultimatebet with the same rakeback deals... cant play them both profitably.

I am mainly stud and other games player. I saw most regs from Absolute Poker have moved to Ultimatebet last few months...

BTW not sure but points system seems better at Annie's

They're basically the same site so you'll see players from both sites there at the same time. Even if you're playing on Ultimate Bet, there will be players at your table who are playing on Absolute.

Right?

I totally agree. My biggest issue is with the card delivery speed when an all in is called. there is Absolutely no delay. I don't know about you guys but it happens so fast I can barely see what the cards were. The system set up to review hand history is just as bad.

Ahhhhhh, I feel better

Right?
Absolute and Ultimate bet run on the same network. So if you have accounts at both, you can't log in on the same computer.

re: Absolute Poker Room

I have accounts on both (different names). I can use both, but it's not allowable to do so at the same time -- not that I've tried.
