888 Poker / Pacific Poker

I've been in touch with the guys at Pacific Poker / 888.com Poker recently and they have been telling me about their new software and how it's far far better than before.

Is anyone here a regular player there, or played there recently and wants to give me a bit of feedback?

Pacific PokerPacific Poker is the poker room for 888.com casino and is still a favourite, especially amongst new players. They recently updated their software with a sleek and smooth new look which is much better to play.

PokerStarsPokerStars is one of the best poker sites on the internet. They accept US players and using PokerStars marketing code CARDSCHAT you get a $75 bonus.

Ive been playing there in the past week or so and yes it has improved from the old and staid 888/Pacific software, but it is still inferior to many other sites IMO.

I suppose not stepping up their game whilst the 'boom' was getting going means unless something amazing happens they will always appear a couple of steps behind.

The actual appearance of the tables is brighter, but still the chat box (almost unnoticable), notes and most importantly betting options (slider & buttons etc) still seem fragile.

I know im a Pokerstars, Full Tilt fan and of course they have their own little quirks, but i prefer to play where i feel more comfortable.

So overall, yes its improved, but it could be more 7/10 from a previous 5/10.

The site is WAY better than it was before. The gameplay is better, the lobby is easier to navigate. They still need to improve the "other games". There is no omaha, stud, razz, horse tourney. Only Hold'em in tourney and sit and go. I'm not a regular player on pacific poker. About 6 months ago, they gave me 5 bucks and I try to make something of it by playing $0.25 and $0.50 tourney.

Most of the players on that site are Europeans so when you go there at night (I live in Quebec, Canada), there is not much action cause everybody is sleeping in Europe !!! hehe

I have played at 888 for the last two years and I would like to say that they have drastically improved in numerous areas!

Support: Their support are always quick to act and on the few instances ive needed them through either network going down or to report something they have been very helpful.

Graphics: As previously said, they have got a bit better but really, I dont play poker for the avatars, I keep them switched off. I would however love to see a few more backgrounds and deck choices but its all superficial really.

Lobby: I really like the layouts of their lobbys and I always find them easy to navigate, the filters are the best around imo. Multi tabling gets frustrating however as I dont really like to flick between two and their system for it is a bit annoying.

Buttons/Slider/Auto raise etc: I like the buttons and I find the slider/text box easy to use. I do however HATE the way that the auto fold etc buttons are 'masked' before its your turn. (They can still be clicked but arent very noticable so accidents can happen!)

All in all, ive made a decent amount of money from playing there and I like the level of play. There are certain things from other sites I like/dislike but I wouldnt change the bones of 888 at all.

Thats my two cents anyway. Haha.

i found it difficult to cash out from there as they made me jump throuhg alot of hoops, like sending in a photocopy of ID and creditcard where at PokerStars they dont have such demands. Took about 3 weeks to get that sorted and another 4 for the check to come.

I have never once had to send a photo ID.

Everything is done directly through my bank card.

Oh how things change.

I would like to publically eat my hat. Haha.

I recently tried to take advatage of a generous invite a friend bonus at 888. After getting my girl to create and account and deposit through her computer (after id done all the normal invite things like sending the emails etc). I then find out 48 hours later that I am infact in breach of the Ts&Cs of 888.

I wouldnt have known this had I not emailed the support who delayed before answering. I then contacted them again reminding them that I had broken no rules in my eyes. The computers are in different houses a few miles apart but 888 insist the same IP was used to register them. Im disgusted with the way this is being handled and as Ive said before, ive been with 888 a long time. Also as stated to them I will think long and hard before recommending the site to anyone let alone depositing myself again.
