| re: -534bb over 724 hands. poker Note that there is a distinction between BB and bb. BB = big bets, or 2x the big blind. This is usually used in reference to limit holdem, where the bet doubles on the turn. Pokertracker automatically defaults to BB when giving your win rate, although you can tell it to use bb when referring to NL games. bb= big blinds (as noted in the above replies). It is more usual to refer to your wins (losses ) in bb when you are talking about no-limit (or pot-limit) games, since there is no doubling of the bet on the turn (min. bet on turn and river remains the size of the big blind) as there is in limit games. |

| Great stuff! Thanks for the replies - It seems that as with most things worth studying, the more you learn in Poker, the more you realise how little you know. My spreadsheet of records covers only the basics, (date, duration of game, up/down, etc), but it seems clear that really the correct way is to get some decent software to do it for me, so that bb and sb success rates - and I'm sure tons more - can be measured. Being a newbie (donk?) is seldom pleasant, but judging by this and other threads, this seems the type of forum to quickly bring one up to speed, so thanks again! |

Any yes, I lost just over 10x the table max buy in (although I was playing much lower than $100NL). This represented a net loss of approx. 18% of my cash game (not tournament) winnings since Jan. (I initially though it was closer to 25%). |

| Dorkus - Not sure what levelling is, but if it's 'taking the piss' which I imagine from your post , then no, my questioning is genuine. My apologies if the questions seem silly and perhaps obvious, but I'm in my third month of poker and I really do know nothing. That said, thanks for the patience one and all - I'll try to maintain the same integrity once I have some knowledge under my belt. PS I really do understand this time! LOL! |
