$50 & time on your hands...

What do you do to get value from your cash?

What site would you sign up to?
Would you play for bonuses or just winnings?
Would you play tournaments or cash tables?

Not sure for that amount of money. A site that offers a deposit bonus though, for sure.

Winnings. Bonus is exactly that: a bonus.

The very lowest of microlimits; $50 is not really enough to withstand a downswing of any larger capacity (because there aren't many tournaments that have buy-ins low enough to give you enough shots).

If you sign up for a deposit bonus, by the way, make sure to read the Terms&Conditions so that the limits you intend to play actually give credit for clearing the bonus.

Here's my tip, though: Deposit the $50 into PokerStars. You won't get a deposit bonus, but that's alright because the lowest limit tables aren't raked anyway. The upside is that you'll have great game selection, and you won't get raked, and they spread REALLY low limits.

Once you've built up ~$200 is when you can start to farm bonuses elsewhere and play something like $.25/$.50 limit (a lot lower if you plan on playing no-limit, but if you're just starting out I'd recommend learning limit first anyway).

Cheers,
FP

You got to take advantage of the bonuses, especially the easy ones to clear. You got to read the fine print before you decide to deposit. Make sure to check out CC's bonuses: http://www.cardschat.com/poker-bonuses.php

Pokerstars' $1 SnGs are a great way to build up a bankroll from a small amount like $50.

Following on from that logic, what sort of bankroll would you need to regularly play $5 SNG's? This is where I play, but I rarely have anymore than $100...

$100 dollars is exactly what you need to play $5 sit-n-go's. I'ts the 5% rule. Buy in for no mor than 5%. So when you get up to $200 you can play the $10 sit-n-go's. This rule is basic for proper bankroll management which is a must in poker.

I must say though if you see a nice looking gauranteed MTT that cost $10 and you only have a $100 bankroll, go ahead and take a shot. Just dont use 10% all the time!

I dont think you need as much as $100 to play $5 games. $50 gives you 9 games, and if you go through that without cashing then it's not bankroll management that's the problem.
