Ok all done with that. Actually I don't think it's worth it. It pays too many spots so there is no real money paid till the final table. When you finish 76 out of 2863, $53 seems like a pretty small payout, lol.

Anyway was getting short stacked and called an all in with KQ of spades. Lost to Ace Jack of diamonds.

Thanks to all that watched and were rooting for me, see ya at the Sunday Million.

Snake I would like to say I'm sorry, I feel responsible for you going out of this tournament.

I noticed this thread and decided that I'd go check it out and railbird a little, the second I showed up, you went all-in and lost

I never realized the full extent of my bad luck, it's like the plague.

"It pays too many spots"

my sentiments exactly. i would LOVE a tourney (especially low buyin) where a 1k tourney paid top 20 or something

This one payed the top 580 or so. The top 10% would be about 280 so you really get about half the money you should when you get "in the money". It get frustraating when you make the money at 580 and you have to beat anouther 570 players to cash more than $100, lol.

yeah, but they need at least -some- tournies with tough payout structures. like ones that pay top 3%-5% very heavily. because if you look at a tourney that pays the top 10%-14% a large chunk of the prize pool is wasted ;/

for instance, in this $20 freezeout im looking at now, top 16% are paid (135 out of 838). if they moved it down to top 5% paid (top 41)

$1106.16 from 91-135 get $25.14
$871.52 from 90-64 get $33.52
$712.30 from 63-46 get $41.90
$175.98 from 45-42 get $58.66
---------
$2,865.96

more would go to the top 41 that is wasted on people that wont even recognize their cashing as a real win anyway. that's an average of an extra $69.90 per top 41. that means the bottom spot getting paid is getting over $128, which seems much more like a win when investing $20 than $25

I agree joosebuck, most standard tourneys pay out about 10% or so which seems about right. Just getting into the money isn't much but you don't have to make the top 5 to have a decent cash compared to you outlay. These large MTTs with thousands of people pay out to about 20% which means you don't get into any real money until very late, usually about the top 3-5. The worst part is there is very little difference between finishing 50th and 500th.
