I don't play in Razz, but how can KKK be bad? :O

In razz you have 7 cards to make the lowest hand (straights and flushes don't count). With a three of a kind that means you have at least a pair in your low hand. That's not good.

The best hand you could possibly have with that would be

A23KK

Which is beaten by every hand without a pair, including 9 10 J Q K

Nah, you get dealt 4 more cards after the original 3, so the best you could get would be A234K. Still not good

Once we got down to 20 or so I just kept getting 2 high cards in the hole or pair to open and could not do much.

That last hand sucked. The last two cards ran me right out of it.
