CardsChat Champion of Champions Final Round

Fredrik Paulsson @ 5:48 am - Filed under Poker General.

This past week, the CardsChat forums held the CardsChat Champion of Champions event, an invitational tournament for “well-known” (in lack of better words) forum members. The entire event was played out over 3 rounds (e.g. we all played three rounds), points were given for each, and the final tally would give the winner. The final winner, by the way, ended up being xdmanx007. Who knew he had it in him!

Despite my own not-exactly-awesome performance, I had a great time playing in this event, and a big thanks to robwhufc who took it up on him to organize and set it up. It’s not easy getting people from all over the world to at least somewhat agree on a time when they can play together, but it worked out!

I should mention also that Rob had the dubious of honour of entering the tourney as a bounty. Tenbob generously offered an as of yet secret prize to whoever knocked the organizer himself out. And that, as it so happens, was done by yours truly, who gets something to show for the event, after all! All I know about what the prize is, is that it’s a physical object sent to me in the mail. I will make sure to put pictures of whatever-it-is up eventually.

As a sidenote, I’m leaving for Minnesota tonight - spending a week with my in-laws - which means that I won’t be playing much poker. I’m planning on reading Harrington’s books, though, in preparation of next years Champion of Champions event. No way am I allowing XD to defend his title as champion for the third year running.

Cheers,
FP
