5/10 Limits and New house
I’ve been kinda quiet around the blog lately, but I have - I believe - valid reasons for it. I’m planning to buy a house, you see, so that’s taking up quite a large part of my life right now. Figuring out how/if we can afford it is one part of it, but since this is also a house that is not yet built, there’s the added fun of deciding on kitchen, wallpaper, bathroom style, etc. We have a meeting at the bank today at 3pm, so we’ll see what kind of interests they’ll give us on a ~$350k loan.
For those interested, this is what the house will look like.
I’m also off work this week, which fit nicely into the house-buying schedule but was more of a fluke. Lori has a week off because the students (she’s a teacher) have fall-break, so I figured I’d take time off as well. The weather is pretty shitty, but who needs nice weather when there are computers? Right.
I’m moving up to $5/$10 by the end of the year, as it looks like right now. I figure to play another 10k hands of 3/6 but then it’s time to say b’bye and switch tabs in the PokerStars client from “low” to “mid.” From the limited experience I have with 5/10, it doesn’t seem like it will get all that much different once I’ve moved up. Let’s just hope I have a couple of good runs the first few sessions, or it might put me off a bit. Who knows.

WOW the house looks like it’s gonna be gorgeous, Fredrik - congratulations! : )
Good luck with 5/10 too; I know with your knowledge of the game, ambition and skills you’ll handle yourself nicely. I know you’ll clean their clocks (or their wallets rather).
Who knows, maybe you’ll be pro by next year
