PokerStars update: More FPPs for 6-max players
For the players, like me, who are 6-max junkies and play the shorthanded tables at Poker Stars, you’ll be glad to hear that they’ve just changed how they distribute their frequent player points for specifically 6-max tables:
Hi, Lee!
You stopped by my table earlier tonight and mentioned the bonus VPPs received for playing 6-max (when the pot reaches $2, if my memory serves). I wanted to know if there’s any info on it on the webpages somewhere; I figured I’d drop a note about it on the blog. If that makes it sound like I have writer’s block, then… Well, I do.
Best regards,
Fredrik
Hi Fredrik -
We don’t have it on the website yet. We wanted to wait a while, because the change would only take effect for new cash game tables that generated after the change was applied. It was going to take about 24 hours before most of those tables regenerated.
It should be on our website shortly.
However, I’ve attached the new web page that will be going onto our site. You’re welcome to extract the information from that and distribute it.
Best regards,
Lee Jones

At this time, the link isn’t up yet on their website, but this is the interesting part:
| 1. Earn FPPs for cash game play
You receive (1) Frequent Player Point (FPP) for being dealt into a hand in which the rake reaches: * $0.40 for fixed limit games with stakes $1.00/$2.00 and lower Note: If the rake reaches $3 (or $2 at six-player tables), then each player dealt into the hand receives a second FPP. If the rake reaches $5 in any game, each player receives a third FPP. |
This may not seem like a very big deal at a glance, but I believe the impact to the number of points I make in a month will be pretty huge. At $3/$6, the rake structure is such that the first dollar is when the pot reaches $20, the second at $40, and the final at $70. Few pots are above $70, but many pots are above $40.
Looks like my fiancée may get that iPod she wanted sooner than I expected.
