He’s not playing poker, I’ll tell you that much. Truth is, this week and the next are the first big deadline weeks for a decently large project that I’ve been running since December, and it’s crunch time. It’s an exciting, but extremely tiring, period that I need to get through. Poker is simply not a part of the scope at the moment.

As I’m planning my activities for the upcoming six months, I’m noticing that there will be quite a few trips even in the future for me. The more faithful readers of the blog will have seen me mention Beijing a couple of times (I’ve been there on average once a month this year), and although I expect to go back there once more before the year is over, it now looks like it’s time for Hong Kong instead. Whether or not I’ll be travelling to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) as well is something I need to look into. My frequent flyer miles are piling up, either way.

Add to this the fact that I recently picked up Sid Meier’s Civilization IV (and shortly thereafter the Warlords expansion pack), and you can perhaps see why I haven’t played a whole lot of hands of Hold ‘em lately. I’ll be back at the tables, though, likely sooner than later.
