A Winning Week.

Fredrik Paulsson @ 5:19 pm

This week, even if just a little, ended up in the black. I’ve gotten so far into the victim mentality now that I’m surprised when I win, which is a bit scary and sad.

The past two months’ downswing has taught me a lot about poker and a lot about myself. Among other things, it’s taught me that poker is a difficult game to enjoy when all you do is lose - at least for me - and it’s furthermore shown me that blogging about something you don’t enjoy is even more difficult. For the sake of posterity I’ve tried to keep it up anyway, but not as frequently as I should have.

I don’t know what it is about mid-september, but it seems that every site I play at (all three, really - Full Tilt, Stars and Party) have decided to bring out reload bonuses. I’m having a little bit of a difficulty keeping up with them, but I’m trying to clear them all. This is especially important now that my bankroll has taken such a hit; the bonuses actually make a sizeable difference. I wish it wasn’t so, but it is.

And as I end my first winning week in two whole months (July 16 was the last time), I’ll repeat what has become my personal mantra in this blog:

Thank god I’m not doing this for a living.
