Superstition Might Be Worthwhile

Fredrik Paulsson @ 12:26 pm - Filed under Poker General.

Maybe I made a huge blunder when I taunted the poker gods by posting earlier of having won two days in a row. The days since have made my downswing go into turbo-mode, and today, and I kid you not, I’ve played 200 hands with a WTSD of 35% and a W$SD at TWENTY PERCENT.

Yes! One out of five showdowns! I’m currently running at -31BB/100 today.

I know. It’s variance. I know. It’s going to “even out” (not really even out, but the long run, bla-bla-bla). It’s just that it’s been a lot like this since July, and I’m sorry Mr. Poker God, but I don’ t know what I did to offend you. Whatever it was, I’m really really sorry.

Sheesh.

Honestly, if this keeps up - and it sure has kept up so far - I’m going to be playing $1/$2 by the end of this month. And I’ll be down to $.25/$.50 at the end of October.

I’d like to repeat that it’s a really, really good thing I don’t play for a living. Thank god.
