A new beginning…and already push-up time!
After playing for quite a while on Titan, I’ve now moved all but $100 out of the site, and deposited a good chunk of my bankroll into PokerStars. My decision was based on a combination of both Titan’s lack of features, aswell as PokerStars’ wealth of them. Too many times I found myself with free time to play, and my desired SnG was just plain not filling up. I really never have that problem with stars, considering they are a much more massive site in terms of players and game availability.
The things I’ve eyed in particular are the 45, 90 and 180 person SnGs, which are essentially MTTs, and the $38 6-seater SnGs which are all surprisingly easy to place in. Easier said than done though, I suppose; I’ve played five 6-seaters today, busting out in all of them on badbeats. This of course isn’t a bad thing though, it means I’m leading when I put my chips in and it should even out in the long run. Even so, I find myself doing my push-ups in between every game to get rid of the tilt.
My real job has really dried up on me in terms of the number of hours I get a week, so I’ve shifted my focus to grinding it out in poker until I either get more hours, or get a new job. Who knows, maybe I’ll be paying my bills with poker for the next while. I’m fairly confident that I can play 4 or 5 a day and make a profit at the $35 level; that should bring in enough to both support my alcoholic habits and add a significant amount to my bankroll. Ahh the life of a gambler!…
Another thing I’ve done is invested in PokerTracker. I bought their $55 software, and so far I’m still getting used to it but already it’s helping my game out. I can actually pinpoint the blind levels that I am doing best at, and the ones where I should loosen up more; stats as far as the eye can see. Here are my updated SnG stats.
As for my bankroll, I’m going to have to switch some stuff up: I have about $1000 outside of PokerStars, including my random mini-bankrolls at the smaller sites. On PokerStars I have $572 remaining from the $600 I deposited at the site, so that makes a total of $1572. From now on to avoid annoying and lengthy exchange rate calculations and random site-searching to find out how much I have outside of PS, I’ll be updating the $600 (now $572) that I originally deposited there.
I’m feeling very good about PokerStars right now, and hopefully my luck will turn around and I can start rolling along with those Sit ‘n’ Gos.
Cheers!
