It’s been a while…
Well I’ve been so busy with work, my new computer, and a handful of other things that I literally have had no time for poker.
I’ve been on my longest no-poker streak in months. A big reason for this is my new pc. I got all the components a while ago, and built the whole thing, installed all the drivers and software, configured it, and it’s running like a well-oiled machine right now. I’m still running through some things (finding old passwords, registration codes, transferring files etc), and it’s pretty tedious to be honest.
I mentioned before that I’d tried out Battlefield 2 at my friend’s house; well I’ve bought a copy for myself and I’ve gotta say that I’m completely addicted. For someone who’s used to the lowly old Rainbow Six 3, Battlefield is blowing me away. I’ve set a goal of making sure that I don’t become a complete hermit and play this game on weekends instead of going out with friends, but the game is literally so fun that I’m afraid I might fail to achieve that goal. It’s also great that a couple of my friends own the game as well, and with the voip features, the game can be a LOT of fun.
So the computer’s built, running very smoothly, and I’m not sure I’m going to do any overclocking (pushing the processor past it’s stock speed) since it’s more than enough for what I do now. I’ve still got to transfer my PokerTracker databases to the pc before I start playing poker. It’s a little pathetic to think about it, but I feel naked without my PT and PAHuD holding my hand through my poker games. I can still manage, but trying to multitable without the two helper programs, it’s like trying to juggle three beanbags with one hand. Except when you drop the beanbags, you lose money.
So anyways, if you’ve been wondering where I’ve been, now you know. I’m officially a bigger nerd than I was before - and that can’t be good. I hope to be playing poker soon enough (I’ve been getting a pretty big STT craving lately), and to be posting in the forums as well as here in the blog as soon as possible.
