With work and school keeping me busy, I wouldn’t expect to have the time to play much poker, but for whatever reason this month I’ve been playing a lot more than I’d expected. I’ve already played 40+ STTs, and 50 tournaments in total.

As I’ve said in previous posts, I’ve finally learned to play multitple tables (usually four). My problem is that, as expected, I don’t play as well while four-tabling as I do single-tabling. My PokerStars bankroll is sitting at about $500, and I’ve been taking out any winnings that exceed that. I think I’m going to either drop down in stakes (probably to the $6.50s), or make my way up to a $750 bankroll to give myself more cushion for the swings that accompany multitabling (mostly due to the fact that I can’t pay as much attention to each table). I’ve gone on a little downswing that took only 2 or 3 four-table sessions to destroy almost half my bankroll. It’s almost unbelievable how many big pairs I’ve run into pulling my routine late-game blind steals. Luckily I’ve kept a clear mind and have nearly made up for those losses, but I think playing with a smaller percent of my bankroll can only do good.

I finally made my way to my first win in one of Stars’ numerous sunday million satellites, and the very next day I won my second, taking the T$ for both. I haven’t played any since, but the wins added a nice ~$350 in profit to my bankroll. Like I said, I’ve been withdrawing everything above $500 in my Stars bankroll, and these last few cashes have really sped up my computer build.

I ordered the final components, an Asus P5B motherboard, Corsair 2×1G DDR2 667 memory, a 320GB hard drive, windows XP and an anti-static wristband, just to be safe. Purolator came to deliver them on friday, but unfortunately I wasn’t home. I called in and the customer service rep was nice enough to reschedule the delivery for monday instead of making me go and pick up the delivery at their warehouse on the edge of town. Because of complications (I currently have no ID, and they can’t give me the package unless I do) I can’t pick the order up anyways, so I might even have to take a day off work to make sure I get the delivery, which is supposed to arrive during the very convenient timespan of 8am to 5pm.

My good friend and co-worker has Battlefield 2 on his computer, and we had a few drinks and messed around with it, and that game is so fun that it’s gotten me even more motivated to get this build done. If I do end up getting the shipment on monday, I should have the build done within a few days unless some unforeseen complications decide to poke their ugly heads out.

Oh, and on a side note, my first of two exams popped up on friday. I hadn’t studied for a single minute, yet I still managed to post a %97 score on the exam. It was actually a %93, but the teacher had screwed a few questions up and decided to give the whole class a few extra marks for his mistake. I’ve got a project due on wednsday, and a final exam at the end of the course, and I have to make sure I actually get up off my heine and get some work done.
