PC build almost done!

May’s now gone and done with, and all I can say is that I hope June amounts to half as good of a month as May was. Not only was my month great in general, but I ran very well too. I ended up just short of $600 in profits through about 70 games with a very hefty %40 ROI.

I’ve been trying to increase the number of tables I can play simultaneously to 6 or more. I tried 6 STTs today, and with a couple beats and some poor play, ended up with about a break-even result. To be accurate, it was -%1 ROI ;) 6 tables was a little overwhelming for me. I handled most of the experience fine, but there were a couple marginal spots where I wasn’t sure what to do, and it can get really hard to figure out whether or not to stick your whole stack in the middle when you’ve got 3 other tables beeping at you because you’re running out of time. I think with time I can definitely reach the milestone of playing 6 or 8 tables successfully, but for now I think 4 suits me perfectly.

With all the money I’ve been making from my busy 40-hours a week work schedule and my very successful poker progress, my computer build has come along nicely. I paid some old dues, got my money sorted out and have already bought most of the components. I should have all the parts bought by the week after next. I got my video card and cpu in the mail from an online retailer, and I feel like a kid in a candy shop. Except I don’t think an eVGA video card would taste as good as, say, a charleston chew. The only components left to buy are the hard drive, motherboard, memory and optical drive, and that’ll cost me about a week’s pay. I’ll be playing a lot of games on the new pc, specifically Battlefield 2 and I’m eyeing Crysis as well as some others. I just hope that the games don’t turn out so good that I end up not having enough time to play poker ;) I tried BF2 at my friend’s house the other day, and wow is that game fun.

Anyways, enough of my rantings for today.
