I Can’t Win (But That’s Okay)
Two really bad months in a row are coming to an end. I’m now a (not so proud) member of the 300BB-club - where membership requires a winning player to lose more than 300BB at limit tables. For those of you who are NL players and think that I’m making a big deal about losing 3 buy-ins, I think you have the wrong perspective. A limit player losing 300BB is the equivalent of a NL player losing 20 buy-ins; it’s the recommended bankroll size “to avoid going bust” that is for some reason accepted as divine truth. Anyway, I’ve played 8.5k hands of -3.9 BB/100. Unfortunate, but not the end of the world; I’ll bounce back. This is not a whine-post.
But while pondering how, although I feel a little down over the nasty downswing, things are mostly okay anyway, Pauly - as if fate directed him - delivers me this long, but excellent post.
I suggest you read it.
