TGIF.

Fredrik Paulsson @ 7:00 am - Filed under Poker General.

This has been a good week for me! This being a poker blog, I feel compelled to start out by inform you that I’ve played a decent amount of poker, and I’ve managed to climb back about half the way that I fell during the last downswing. So that’s definitely good for me. Lori and I also went out to buy ourselves new bicycles Tuesday. So I no longer take the car to work, which is good for almost everyone.

Yesterday, we had a teambuilding thingy with work, where we went to some kind of fitness class called “box”. It’s basically boxing, but just the practise part, not the fighting part. It’s tough as hell. It’s only been 14 hours since the fact, so my muscles haven’t started hurting as bad as they will yet, but I can feel that it’s getting there. I anticipate not being able to move tonight. Reluctantly, I believe the fitness class may also be good for me.

And we ended the night with a dinner out, and then we went to check out these guys:

Here’s a song from an old gig they did. They’ve gotten a lot better now, but this should give you some idea of the kind of music they play: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mT33z8kQ1M

Great night.

If you happen to enjoy that kind of music (and who doesn’t) I suggest looking up songs by Herb Alpert. Spanish Flea, What Now My Love and Casino Royale.

On a separate note, I woke up this morning, only to find out that the NPA likes my blog. I’m feeling a tingle of performance anxiety.

See, here’s the thing. I don’t usually think about the fact that people actually read what I write here. I “know” that I have readers; I just tend to never really think much about that when I’m writing. I usually write as if I was adressing myself. So when someone mentions my blog somewhere else, it’s always a bit of a wake-up call for me. “Oh yeah. People read that stuff.”

And with performance anxiety, the inevitable companion is writer’s block.

Dammit.
