I’ve been playing a hockey tournament with my Juvenile select team the past few days, and we’ve made it to the finals which are to be played today at about 6PM. It’s been pretty much a cakewalk for us, though - only 3 teams including ourselves have entered. One of them, the host team, is garbage (no offense intended; just being honest). The other is a team which we just eliminated from playoffs and they’re a little tougher; we’re to face them today. It’s been a costly week for me - I checked a guy so hard that my right holder no my skate (the part that holds the blade) and the blade itself shattered into pieces, and I’ve had to borrow a teammate’s skates until mine get fixed. On top of all this, my stick also broke last game, so I’ve got to borrow that too.

The Leafs have been through a hell of a finish too against the Canadiens. Last night’s game was just about the most incredible game I’d seen in a while in terms of excitement. To be honest, the defense was terrible on both ends, but this only added to the excitement. We needed to win the game, our last of the season, to have any chance of making the playoffs. Not only that, but the way points had us sitting, we needed to win in regulation - any overtime and we were out. We scored first to make it 1-0, then Montreal tied 1-1. Then we went up 3-1, only to see that lead vanish as Montreal went up 5-3. We eventually came back to win 6-5 and eliminated the Canadiens from the playoffs. We’re still not guaranteed a spot either, and have to see the Islanders lose to New Jersey this afternoon in order to secure that last playoff spot. Oh the excitement

Anyways, I thought I’d get a rest when this tournament was over, but I’ve just spoken to my old boss and she’s starting her landscaping for the season already and needs me as early as next week. Busy busy busy. And I love it. I’ve been idle for too long.
