The month didn’t end in any spectacular way in either direction, which I’m having mixed feelings about. I was hoping to run better this month (name a month where I wasn’t!) but at least I’m in the black. I’ve made some big leaps in terms of stuff I’ve learned, although not necessarily so much direct poker strategy. But I’ve realized two fairly important things about myself:
1. I don’t play four tables very well. It’s okay as long as I’m alert, but when I start getting a bit tired or a bit more distracted, then I start to miss important things. Three tables is just perfect for me, though, and is what I’m aiming to play in the future.
2. I do a lot better versus loose/passive opponents than versus loose/aggressive opponents. So when I’m table-selecting, I’m now looking for the loosest tables, not necessarily the combination of many players to a flop AND the biggest pots. I realize that I’m missing out on some profit - because playing bad LAGs ought to be where the biggest money is to be had - but I’m simply not comfortable in playing them at this point. I don’t think I make the necessary adjustments and I miss value bets in some cases and spew chips in others.
Anyway, here’s the graph. I have about 1,300 more VPPs to earn before March 31st, which is going to be a walk in the park, and I’m very excited about getting the bonus cleared. Of course, the first thing that’s going to happen is that I’m going to go ahead and buy myself the next VPP bonus and it’ll all start over again, heh. Oh well!
Oh, and by the way: I can share with you that my March graph, once I post that, starts out with a nice swing up.
