I’m a super star!

Fredrik Paulsson @ 8:43 am

Actually, I’m a Platinum Star. I managed to play enough at Stars to earn myself that title and I suppose that means that I should try to squeeze out as many $650 bonuses as possible before they decide to can that particular reward on June 30.

Other random stuff:

I played in a free-buy-in home game saturday night. We were playing for the honor of first place, I guess. Or everyone but Emelie did, because she kinda played to get busted first so she could go sit by the computer and play World of Warcraft*. Oookay.

So the third hand that’s dealt makes a king-high straight flush for Jonas. Live poker is rigged.

And I was mostly just folding, and checking in the big blind. The play was a little bit slow (especially given that we were drinking and that there were a lot of questions about the rules, such as “does the ace count as one as well as 14 to make a straight?!”) so the blinds went up quickly in relations to the rounds, which means that soon I was down to ~6 BB or so and I check my option in the big blind again, this time with Q-5o. The flop comes J-J-2, three-way. I decide to get cute and push because I hadn’t played a single hand so far and I figured that no one was likely to have hit that flop.

Robert calls me. Crap, I ran into a real hand.

Robert turns over Q-3.

We ended up sharing both the pot and a laugh. He said “I KNEW you were bluffing! Hah!” And he was right, of course. So what can I say? I just laughed and agreed.
